Portuguese Courses for Business in BoltonPlease click a title below for further information: Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Portuguese Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Portuguese speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience.
Our Portuguese teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Portuguese teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Portuguese lessons start.
If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile.
Your Portuguese teacher in Bolton will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Portuguese. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Portuguese. The Portuguese courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Portuguese training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Portuguese courses at Bolton are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Portuguese Course ManagementEvery SIMON & SIMON Portuguese language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it.
When your Portuguese course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources. We have a global network of language trainers so our Portuguese language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Portuguese language courses for clients in many diverse locations.
Portuguese language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel.

We also arrange weekend Portuguese courses on request. Our Portuguese programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Intensive 30 hour per week Portuguese language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday. Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Portuguese course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Portuguese and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on.
You may desire simply to gain everyday Portuguese skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Portuguese and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing.
You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Portuguese for use in negotiations and meetings.
Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Portuguese language trainers will tailor your Portuguese course so that your goals will be met quickly. Portuguese Language Examination CoursesIf you are taking a Portuguese examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Portuguese teachers in Bolton whose experience is above average.
SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Portuguese examination, administer the examination and issue you your results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Portuguese Courses Bolton Portuguese is a Romance language developed from Galician-Portuguese that was spoken in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia. It is an official language of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the African Union, and Lusophone countries. With around 240 million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world. Portuguese is the official language of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. According to estimates by UNESCO, Portuguese and Spanish are the fastest-growing European languages after English and the language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America. Bolton is a town in Greater Manchester, in the North West of England. Close to the West Pennine Moors, it is 10 miles (16 km) north west of the city of Manchester. Bolton is surrounded by several smaller towns and villages which together form the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, of which Bolton is the administrative centre. The town of Bolton has a population of 139,403, whilst the wider metropolitan borough has a population of 262,400.
Historically a part of Lancashire, Bolton originated as a small settlement in the moorland known as Bolton le Moors. During the English Civil War the town was a Parliamentarian outpost in a staunchly Royalist region, and as a result Bolton was stormed by 3,000 Royalist troops led by Prince Rupert of the Rhine in 1644. In what became known as the Bolton Massacre, 1,600 residents were killed and 700 were taken prisoner.
Noted as a former mill town, Bolton has been a production centre for textiles since Flemish weavers settled in the area during the 15th century, developing a wool and cotton weaving tradition. The urbanisation and development of Bolton largely coincided with the introduction of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution. It was a boomtown of the 19th century and at its zenith, in 1929, its 216 cotton mills and 26 bleaching and dying works made it one of the largest and most productive centres of cotton spinning in the world.
