Bedfordshire Portuguese Course Schedules

Our Portuguese language courses in Bedfordshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Portuguese can be arranged on request. Our Portuguese courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Portuguese courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Portuguese language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Portuguese language course we will assess your goals and level of Portuguese experience. Portuguese Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Portuguese examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Portuguese is a Romance language developed from Galician-Portuguese that was spoken in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia. It is an official language of the European Union, the Organisation of American States, the African Union, and Lusophone countries. With around 240 million speakers, Portuguese is the sixth-most spoken language in the world. Portuguese is the official language of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Mozambique. According to estimates by UNESCO, Portuguese and Spanish are the fastest-growing European languages after English and the language has the highest potential for growth as an international language in southern Africa and South America.

Bedfordshire is a ceremonial county of historic origin in England that forms part of the East of England region. It borders Cambridgeshire to the north-east, Northamptonshire to the north, Buckinghamshire to the west and Hertfordshire to the south-east. The highest elevation point is 243 metres (797 ft) on Dunstable Downs in the Chilterns. As part of a 2002 marketing campaign, the plant conservation charity Plantlife chose the Bee Orchid as the county flower. The traditional nickname for people from Bedfordshire is "Bedfordshire Bulldogs" or "Clangers", this last deriving from a local dish comprising a suet crust dumpling filled with meat or jam or both. The first recorded use of the name was in 1011 as "Bedanfordscir," meaning the shire or county of Bedford, which itself means "Beda's ford" (river crossing). Bedfordshire was historically divided into the nine hundreds: Barford, Biggleswade, Clifton, Flitt, Manshead, Redbournestoke, Stodden, Willey, Wixamtree, along with the liberty and borough of Bedford. There have been several minor changes to the county boundary; for example, in 1897 Kensworth and part of Caddington were transferred from Hertfordshire to Bedfordshire.
