Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Polish Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Polish teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Polish tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Polish Lessons.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Polish lesson in Stoke almost entirely in Polish - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Polish in a variety of social and business situations.

Polish courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Polish courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Polish in Stoke on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Polish Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Polish language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Polish language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Polish language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Polish language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Polish lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Polish lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Polish language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Stoke Polish Course Schedules

The Polish language courses in Stoke that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Polish courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Polish language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Polish language course we will assess your level of Polish and speak to you about your aims so that your Polish language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Polish before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Polish when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Polish in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Polish language trainers will tailor your Polish course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Polish Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Polish examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Polish teachers in Stoke. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Polish examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Polish Courses Stoke

Polish describes a Lechitic subgroup of West Slavic languages in Central Europe and the official language of Poland. Its written standard is the Polish alphabet which corresponds to the Latin alphabet with several additions. Polish-speakers use the language in a uniform manner throughout most of Poland. Despite the pressure of non-Polish administrations in Poland, who have often attempted to suppress the Polish language, a rich literature has developed over the centuries and the language is currently the largest in terms of speakers of the West Slavic group. It is also the third most widely spoken Slavic language, after Russian and Ukrainian.

Stoke means "hamlet", from the Anglo-Saxon. It formed part of the ancient Forest of Mondrum. Stoke is not mentioned by name in the Domesday survey; the name was first recorded in 1260. Barbridge is mentioned in John Leland's Itinerary from a visit of 1536. The civil parish was originally a township in the ancient parish of Acton in the Nantwich Hundred; it was served by St Mary's Church, Acton. The manor was given by Randal de Praers to his son, who assumed the name Stoke, and later passed to the Beeston and Aston families. By 1622, it was held by the Minshull family of Stoke Hall. The manor was held by the Wilbraham family from 1753 to 1781, and was then sold to the Craven family. During the Civil War, Stoke was occupied by royalist forces in December 1643, together with much of the surrounding area. In the 17th–19th centuries, the area appears to have had a substantial Quaker population; a graveyard at Stoke Grange Farm was given to the movement in 1657 and remained in use until the mid-19th century. During World War II, Stoke Manor provided accommodation for land girls.
