Russian Courses for Business in Manchester

Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Russian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Russian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience.

Modern Language Teaching: The Communicative Approach

These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Russian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Russian Lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Russian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Russian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Russian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

In depth: Our Russian Courses for Business in Manchester

1:1 and Group Russian Courses in Manchester

Our Russian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Russian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Russian in Manchester on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Russian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Russian language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Russian language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

Russian Course Content

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Russian course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Russian and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Russian skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Russian and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Russian for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Russian language trainers will tailor your Russian course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Russian Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Russian examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Russian teachers in Manchester whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Russian examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

About Russian

Russian is a Slavic language used primarily in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. It is an unofficial but widely spoken language in Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia and, to a lesser extent, the other countries that were once constituent republics of the USSR. It is the most geographically widespread language of Eurasia, the most widely spoken of the Slavic languages, and the largest native language in Europe. Russian belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three (or four including Rusyn) living members of the East Slavic languages. Written examples of Old East Slavonic are attested from the 10th century onwards. The language is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

About Manchester

Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, England. In 2009, its population was estimated to be 483,800, making it the seventh-most populous local authority district in England.

Manchester lies within one of the UK’s largest metropolitan areas; the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester had an estimated population of 2,600,100, the Greater Manchester Urban Area a population of 2,240,230, and the Larger Urban Zone around Manchester, the second-most-populous in the UK, had an estimated population in the 2004 Urban Audit of 2,539,100. The demonym of Manchester is Mancunian.

Manchester is situated in the south-central part of North West England, fringed by the Cheshire Plain to the south and the Pennines to the north and east. The recorded history of Manchester began with the civilian vicus associated with the Roman fort of Mamucium, which was established c. CE 79 on a sandstone bluff near the confluence of the rivers Medlock and Irwell. Historically, most of the city was a part of Lancashire, although areas south of the River Mersey were in Cheshire.

Throughout the Middle Ages Manchester remained a manorial township, but began expanding “at an astonishing rate” around the turn of the 19th century as part of a process of unplanned urbanisation brought on by a boom in textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution.

Manchester is the second highest ranked city in Britain behind London as ranked by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network in 2014 as a beta world city. It was the site of the very first atom being split, and the Manchester Liverpool Road station was the first inter-city railway station in the world. It is the third most visited city in the United Kingdom behind London and Edinburgh with a diverse culture and a fascinating history that draws foreigners to come see it.

Assess Your Russian Level

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions across the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their Russian language trainer in Manchester can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise Russian in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.
