New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is approached. Modern teaching approaches prove to be a considerably more fun and worthwhile experience, a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. We adopt a teaching approach known as the communicative approach throughout our English Lessons in Brighton, where almost your entire course will be conducted in English. Using the Communicative Approach means that students can grow in confidence as well as ability from their very first session, and soon they will have the confidence to use their new English skills in a range of social and business settings.

In depth: Our English Courses for Business in Brighton

1:1 and Group English Courses in Brighton

English courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees English courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning English in Brighton on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

About English

English is a West Germanic language that arose in the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England and spread into what was to become south-east Scotland under the influence of the Anglian medieval kingdom of Northumbria. Following the economic, political, military, scientific, cultural, and colonial influence of Great Britain and the United Kingdom from the 18th century, via the British Empire, and of the United States since the mid-20th century, it has been widely dispersed around the world, become the leading language of international discourse, and has acquired use as lingua franca in many regions. It is widely learned as a second language and used as an official language of the European Union and many Commonwealth countries, as well as in many world organizations. It is the third most natively spoken language in the world, after Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

About Brighton

Brighton is the major part of the city of Brighton and Hove (formed from the previous towns of Brighton, Hove, Portslade and several other villages) in East Sussex on the south coast of Great Britain. For administrative purposes, Brighton and Hove is not part of the non-metropolitan county of East Sussex, but remains part of the ceremonial county of East Sussex, within the historic County of Sussex.

The ancient settlement of Brighthelmstone dates from before Domesday Book (1086), but it emerged as a health resort featuring sea bathing during the 18th century and became a destination for day-trippers from London after the arrival of the railway in 1841. Brighton experienced rapid population growth, reaching a peak of over 160,000 by 1961. Modern Brighton forms part of the Brighton/Worthing/Littlehampton conurbation stretching along the coast, with a population of around 480,000. Brighton has long been renowned throughout the UK and Europe as gay-friendly, and is home to a large LGBT community. Eight million tourists a year visit Brighton.

The city has a substantial business conference industry regularly hosting the Liberal Democrats, Labour Party, Conservative Party and Trade Union annual conferences. Brighton has two universities and a medical school.
