SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified native Japanese speaking teachers average 15 years of experience. Professionals and private individuals from all over the UK have benefited from SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese language courses, all of which are tailor-made to reflect each student's level of experience. We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Japanese tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Japanese tutor before they start their course of lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Japanese teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Japanese means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Japanese in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Japanese courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Japanese lessons at Windsor mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Japanese Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Japanese language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Japanese course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Japanese language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Japanese language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Full-time residential Japanese language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

Windsor Japanese Course Schedules

The Japanese language courses in Windsor that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Japanese courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Japanese language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Japanese language course we will assess your level of Japanese and speak to you about your aims so that your Japanese language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Japanese before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Japanese when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Japanese in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Japanese language trainers will tailor your Japanese course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Japanese Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Japanese examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Japanese teachers in Windsor. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Japanese examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others.

Windsor is an affluent suburban town in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is widely known as the site of Windsor Castle. The town is situated 21 miles (34 km) west of Charing Cross. It is immediately south of the River Thames, which forms its boundary with Eton. Windsor and the surrounding areas contain some of the most expensive and desirable housing in the UK. The village of Old Windsor, just over two miles to the south, predates what is now called Windsor by around 300 years; in the past Windsor was formally referred to as New Windsor to distinguish the two. The early history of the site is unknown, although the site was almost certainly settled many years before the medieval castle was built. Histories of the town note that the combination of the navigable river and the strategically-placed hill point to the likelihood of continuous human settlement from early times. Evidence includes archaeological finds from Windsor, such as palaeolithic hand-axes, neolithic flint picks, Bronze Age swords and an Iron Age brooch. Although Roman remains are few, there is ample evidence of Anglo Saxon settlement in the area.
