Japanese Courses for Business in SussexPlease click a title below for further information: Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese courses, taught by a team of qualified native Japanese speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience.
The feedback on our Japanese tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Japanese course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Japanese teacher’s experience and background. Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding.
The Communicative Approach, where your Japanese teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Japanese means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Japanese in a social or business setting will be no problem. We offer Japanese courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Japanese training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money.
Those who learn Japanese at Sussex on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses. Japanese Course ManagementOne of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Japanese language course.
On starting your Japanese course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you. SIMON & SIMON Japanese language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Japanese language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond.

Sussex Japanese Course SchedulesThe Japanese language courses in Sussex that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more.
We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Japanese courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Japanese language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday. Before you start your Japanese language course we will assess your level of Japanese and speak to you about your aims so that your Japanese language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Japanese before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Japanese when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Japanese in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Japanese language trainers will tailor your Japanese course so that your goals can be quickly met. Japanese Language Examination CoursesWe are happy to help in your preparation for any Japanese examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Japanese teachers in Sussex.
Issuing of results certificates, registration for Japanese examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Japanese Courses Sussex Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others. Sussex is an historic county in South East England corresponding roughly in area to the ancient Kingdom of Sussex. It is bounded on the north by Surrey, east by Kent, south by the English Channel, and west by Hampshire, and is divided for local government into West Sussex and East Sussex and the city of Brighton and Hove. The city of Brighton & Hove was created a unitary authority in 1997; and was granted City status in 2000. Until then Chichester had been Sussex's only city.
The divisions of West Sussex and East Sussex were first established in 1189, and had obtained separate administrations (Quarter Sessions) by the 16th century. This situation was recognised by the County of Sussex Act 1865. Under the Local Government Act 1888 the two divisions became two administrative counties (along with three county boroughs: Brighton, Hastings and, from 1911, Eastbourne).
The appellation Sussex remained in use as a ceremonial county until 1974, when the Lord-Lieutenant of Sussex was replaced with one each for East and West Sussex. The whole of Sussex has had a single police force since 1968.
