Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Japanese Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Japanese teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Japanese tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Japanese Lessons.

Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Japanese lessons in Ipswich will be carried out almost completely in Japanese. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Japanese to communicate in various business and social situations.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Japanese language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Japanese training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Japanese in Ipswich on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Japanese Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Japanese course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Japanese language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Japanese language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Japanese language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Japanese language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Ipswich Japanese Course Schedules

We run our Japanese language courses in Ipswich all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Japanese courses on request. Our Japanese programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Japanese language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Japanese course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Japanese and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Japanese skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Japanese and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Japanese for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Japanese language trainers will tailor your Japanese course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Japanese Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Japanese examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Japanese teachers in Ipswich whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Japanese examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Japanese Courses Ipswich

Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others.

Ipswich is a non-metropolitan district and the county town of Suffolk, England. It is located on the estuary of the River Orwell. Nearby towns are Felixstowe in Suffolk and Harwich and Colchester in Essex. The town of Ipswich overspills the borough boundaries significantly, with only 85% of the town's population living within the borough at the time of the 2001 Census, when it was the third-largest settlement in the United Kingdom's East of England region, and the 38th largest urban area in England. The modern name is derived from the medieval name, 'Gippeswick' (also spelt 'Gipewiz', 'Gepeswiz', or 'Gypeswiz') is probably taken from the River Gipping which is the name of the non-tidal section of the River Orwell. As of 2007, the borough of Ipswich is estimated to have a population of approximately 128,000 inhabitants. Under the Roman empire, the area around Ipswich formed an important route inland to rural towns and settlements via the rivers Orwell and Gipping. A large Roman fort, part of the coast defences of Britain, stood at Walton near Felixstowe (13 miles, 21 km), and the largest villa in Suffolk (possibly an administrative complex) stood at Castle Hill (north-west Ipswich).
