Japanese Courses for Business in Essex

Please click a title below for further information:

Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese courses, taught by a team of qualified native Japanese speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Japanese tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Japanese course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Japanese teacher’s experience and background.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Japanese teacher in Essex will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Japanese. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Japanese.

We offer Japanese courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Japanese training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Japanese at Essex on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Japanese Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Japanese language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Japanese course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON’s Japanese language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Japanese language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Japanese language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Full-time residential Japanese language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

Essex Japanese Course Schedules

Our Japanese language courses in Essex take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Japanese daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Japanese language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Japanese language course that you undertake will be customised for your Japanese level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Japanese level. You may have little or no experience of Japanese and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Japanese skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Japanese language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Japanese course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Japanese Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Japanese examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Japanese teachers in Essex who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Japanese examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Japanese Courses Essex

Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others.

Essex is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East region of England, and one of the home counties. It is located to the northeast of Greater London and is one of the most populous counties in England. Essex County Council is the principal local authority for much of the county, sharing functions with twelve district councils. The county town is Chelmsford. The southern Essex boroughs of Thurrock and Southend-on-Sea are governed separately as unitary authorities. It was established in antiquity and formed the eastern portion of the Kingdom of Essex. Sections of the county closer to London are part of the Metropolitan Green Belt, which prohibits development. It is the location of the regionally significant Lakeside Shopping Centre and London Stansted Airport; and the new towns of Basildon and Harlow. The name Essex originates in the Anglo-Saxon period of the Early Middle Ages and has its root in the Old English Ēastseaxe (i.e. the "East Saxons"), the eastern kingdom of the Saxons.
