Many professionals in companies across the UK, as well as private individuals, have benefited from an Japanese Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. We have a terrific team of qualified native-speaker Japanese teachers, and with an average of 15 years' experience they will ensure you benefit from a course designed specifically around your needs, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner with more specialised requirements. We consistently receive excellent feedback on our Japanese tutors from our clients, and we send our students a profile on their Japanese tutor prior to their Japanese lessons commencing, with information on the tutor's background and experience.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Japanese teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Japanese means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Japanese in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Japanese courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Japanese lessons at Blackpool mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Japanese Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Japanese language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Japanese course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON Japanese language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Japanese language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Japanese courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Japanese training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Japanese courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Blackpool Japanese Course Schedules

The Japanese language courses in Blackpool that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Japanese courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Japanese language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Japanese language course we will assess your level of Japanese and speak to you about your aims so that your Japanese language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Japanese before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Japanese when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Japanese in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Japanese language trainers will tailor your Japanese course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Japanese Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Japanese examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Japanese teachers in Blackpool. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Japanese examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others.

Blackpool is a seaside town and unitary authority in Lancashire, England. Situated along the coast of the Irish Sea, it has a population of 142,900, making it the third-largest settlement in North West England behind Manchester and Liverpool. It lies 40 miles (64 km) north-west of the city of Manchester, and less than 30 miles (48 km) north of Liverpool City centre. Blackpool is the fourth most densely populated local authority district of England & Wales outside Greater London. Blackpool rose to prominence as a major centre of tourism during the 19th century, particularly for the inhabitants of northern mill towns. Blackpool is believed to get its name from a historic drainage channel (possibly Spen Dyke) that ran over a peat bog, discharging discoloured water into the Irish Sea, which formed a black pool (on the other side of the sea, "Dublin" (Dubh Linn) is derived from the Irish for "black pool"). Another explanation is that the local dialect for stream was "pul" or "poole", hence "Black poole".
