Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Japanese Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Japanese speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Japanese teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Japanese teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Japanese lessons start.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Japanese course in Bedford, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Japanese. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Japanese to communicate in social and business settings.

We offer Japanese courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Japanese training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Japanese at Bedford on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Japanese Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Japanese language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Japanese language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. Bedford Japanese Course Schedules

We run Japanese language courses in Bedford all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Japanese weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Japanese language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Japanese language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Japanese language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Japanese conversational skills or have more proficiency in Japanese and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Japanese for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Japanese language trainers will work with you on a Japanese language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Japanese Language Examination Courses

Japanese examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Japanese teachers in Bedford with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Japanese examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Japanese Courses Bedford

Japanese is a language spoken by over 130 million people in Japan and in Japanese emigrant communities. Dozens of dialects are spoken in Japan. The profusion is due to many factors, including the length of time the archipelago has been inhabited, its mountainous island terrain, and Japan's long history of both external and internal isolation. The main distinction in Japanese accents is between Tokyo-type and Kyoto-Osaka-type, though Kyūshū-type dialects form a third, smaller group. Within each type are several subdivisions. Kyoto-Osaka-type dialects are in the central region, with borders roughly formed by Toyama, Kyōto, Hyōgo, and Mie Prefectures; most Shikoku dialects are also that type. The final category of dialects are those that are descended from the Eastern dialect of Old Japanese; these dialects are spoken in Hachijō-jima island and a few others.

Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire, in the East of England. It is a large town and the administrative centre for the wider Borough of Bedford. According to Bedfordshire County Council's estimates, the town had a population of 79,190 in mid 2005, with 19,720 in the adjacent town of Kempston. The wider borough, including a rural area, had a population of 153,000. Bedford was a market town for the surrounding agricultural region from the early Middle Ages The Anglo-Saxon King Offa of Mercia was buried in the town in 796.In 886 it became a boundary town separating Wessex and Danelaw. It was the seat of the Barony of Bedford. In 919 Edward the Elder built the town's first known fortress, on the south side of the River Ouse and there received the area's submission. This fortress was destroyed by the Danes. William II gave the barony of Bedford to Paine de Beauchamp who built a new, strong castle. The new Bedford Castle was razed in 1224 and today only a mound remains. Bedford traces its borough charter in 1166 by Henry II and elected two members to the unreformed House of Commons. Bedford remained a small agricultural town, with wool being an important industry in the area for much of the Middle Ages From the 1560s Bedford and much of Bedfordshire became one of the main centres of England's Lace industry.
