All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Italian Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Italian speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Italian teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Italian teacher before they commence their Italian lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Italian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Italian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Italian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Italian language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Italian training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Italian in Stafford on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Italian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Italian language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Italian course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Italian language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Italian language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Italian courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Italian training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Italian courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Stafford Italian Course Schedules

We run Italian language courses in Stafford all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Italian weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Italian language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Italian language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Italian language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Italian conversational skills or have more proficiency in Italian and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Italian for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Italian language trainers will work with you on a Italian language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Italian Language Examination Courses

Italian examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Italian teachers in Stafford with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Italian examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Italian Courses Stafford

Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties. Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian.

Stafford is the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies approximately 16 miles (26 km) north of Wolverhampton and 18 miles (29 km) south of Stoke-on-Trent, adjacent to the M6 motorway Junction 13 to Junction 14. The population of Stafford was given in the 2001 census as 63,681, with that of the wider borough of Stafford as 122,000, making Stafford the fourth largest settlement in the Ceremonial county, after Stoke on Trent, Tamworth and Newcastle under Lyme. Stafford means 'ford' by a 'staithe' (landing place). The original settlement was on an island in the middle of the marshes of the River Sow, a tributary of the River Trent. There is still a large area of marshland northwest of the town, which has always been subject to flooding, such as in 1947, 2000 and 2007. It's thought Stafford was founded in about 700 AD by Mercian prince called Bertelin who, according to legend, established a hermitage on a secluded marshy island. The remains of a wooden preaching cross were discovered under the foundations of St Bertelin's Church in the centre of the town.
