Italian Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Italian language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Italian course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

The Italian language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Italian language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Italian lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Italian lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Italian language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Shropshire Italian Course Schedules

Our Italian language courses in Shropshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Italian can be arranged on request. Our Italian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Italian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Italian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Italian language course we will assess your goals and level of Italian experience. Your desire to learn Italian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Italian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Italian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Italian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Italian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Italian teachers in Shropshire who have a higher level of experience than average. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties. Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian.

Shropshire is a county in the West Midlands region of England. It borders Wales to the west. Shropshire is one of England's most rural and sparsely populated counties with a population density of 91/km2 (337/sq mi). The shire county and its districts were replaced by a unitary authority on 1 April 2009. The borough of Telford and Wrekin, included in Shropshire for ceremonial purposes, has been a unitary authority since 1998. The county is centred around six main towns starting with the county town of Shrewsbury, which is culturally and historically important, although Telford, which was constructed around a number of older towns, most notably Wellington, Dawley and Madeley, is today the most populous. The other main towns are Oswestry in the north-west, Newport to the east, Bridgnorth in the south-east, and Ludlow to the south.
