Italian Courses for Business in Maidstone

Please click a title below for further information:

Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Italian Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Italian speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Italian teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Italian teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Italian lessons start.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Italian teacher in Maidstone will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Italian. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Italian.

Our Italian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Italian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Italian in at Maidstone on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Italian Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Italian languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Italian course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Italian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Italian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Italian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Maidstone Italian Course Schedules

The Italian language courses in Maidstone that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Italian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Italian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Italian language course we will assess your level of Italian and speak to you about your aims so that your Italian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Italian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Italian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Italian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Italian language trainers will tailor your Italian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Italian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Italian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Italian teachers in Maidstone. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Italian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Italian Courses Maidstone

Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties. Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian.

Maidstone is the county town of Kent, England, 32 miles (51 km) south-east of London. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town linking Maidstone to Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river was a source and route for much of the town's trade. Maidstone was the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of a settlement in the area dating back to beyond the Stone Age. The town is within the borough of Maidstone. In 2001, the town had a population of 138,959 Maidstone's economy has changed over the years from being involved in heavy industry, to more light and service industries. Neolithic finds have revealed the earliest occupation of the area; and the Romans have left their mark also: the road through the town and evidence of villas. The Normans set up a shire moot, and religious organisations established an abbey at Boxley, as well as hospitals and a college for priests. Today’s suburb of Penenden Heath became a place of execution in medieval times.
