Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Italian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Italian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Italian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Italian Lessons.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Italian teacher in Luton will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Italian. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Italian.

The Italian courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Italian training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Italian courses at Luton are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Italian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Italian language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Italian course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Italian language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Italian language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Italian lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Italian lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Italian language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Luton Italian Course Schedules

We run Italian language courses in Luton all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Italian weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Italian language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Italian language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Italian language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Italian conversational skills or have more proficiency in Italian and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Italian for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Italian language trainers will work with you on a Italian language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Italian Language Examination Courses

Italian examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Italian teachers in Luton with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Italian examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Italian Courses Luton

Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties. Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian.

Luton is a large town and unitary authority of Bedfordshire, England, 30 miles (51 kilometres) north of London. Luton and its near neighbours, Dunstable and Houghton Regis, form the Luton/Dunstable Urban Area with a population of over 240,000. Luton is home to Blue Square Premier team Luton Town Football Club, whose history includes several spells in the top flight of the English league as well as a Football League Cup triumph in 1988. They play at Kenilworth Road stadium, which has been their home since 1905. London Luton Airport, opened in 1938, is one of England's major airports. During the Second World War it doubled as an RAF base. The University of Bedfordshire is based in the town. The Luton Carnival, held on the late May bank holiday, is the largest one-day carnival in Europe. The town was for many years famous for hat-making and was also home to a large Vauxhall Motors factory; the head office of Vauxhall Motors is still situated in the town. Car production at the plant began in 1905 and continued until 2002, but commercial vehicle production remains.
