The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile.
The Communicative Approach means that your Italian lessons in Glasgow will be almost entirely through the medium of Italian. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Italian with confidence, in a range of social and business environments. The Italian courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Italian training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Italian courses at Glasgow are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Italian Course ManagementOne of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Italian language course.
On starting your Italian course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you. SIMON & SIMON’s Italian language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Italian language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere.
We can arrange Italian language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel.

Glasgow Italian Course SchedulesThe Italian language courses in Glasgow that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more.
We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Italian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Italian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday. Before you start your Italian language course we will assess your level of Italian and speak to you about your aims so that your Italian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Italian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Italian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Italian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Italian language trainers will tailor your Italian course so that your goals can be quickly met. Italian Language Examination CoursesWe are happy to help in your preparation for any Italian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Italian teachers in Glasgow.
Issuing of results certificates, registration for Italian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Italian Courses Glasgow Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties.
Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian. Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and third most populous in the United Kingdom. The city is situated on the River Clyde in the country's west central lowlands. A person from Glasgow is known as a Glaswegian or as locals say "weegie".
Glasgow grew from the medieval Bishopric of Glasgow and the later establishment of the University of Glasgow in the 15th century, which subsequently became a major centre of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th century. From the 18th century the city also grew as one of Britain's main hubs of transatlantic trade with British North America and the British West Indies. With the Industrial Revolution, the city and surrounding region shifted to become one of the world's pre-eminent centres of Heavy Engineering, most notably in the Shipbuilding and Marine engineering industry, which produced many innovative and famous vessels. Glasgow was known as the "Second City of the British Empire" for much of the Victorian era and Edwardian period. Today it is one of Europe's top twenty financial centres and is home to many of Scotland's leading businesses. Glasgow is also ranked as the 57th most liveable city in the world.
