Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Italian Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Italian speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Italian teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Italian teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Italian lessons start.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Italian lesson in Chelmsford almost entirely in Italian - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Italian in a variety of social and business situations.

Our Italian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Italian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Italian in at Chelmsford on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Italian Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Italian languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Italian course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

The Italian language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Italian language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Italian lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Italian lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Italian language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Chelmsford Italian Course Schedules

Our Italian language courses in Chelmsford go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Italian can be arranged on request. Our Italian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Italian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Italian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Italian language course we will assess your goals and level of Italian experience. Your desire to learn Italian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Italian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Italian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Italian trainers experience and that your Italian language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Italian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Italian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Italian teachers in Chelmsford who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Italian examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Italian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by about 70 million people in Italy, Malta, San Marino and parts of Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia and France. Many native speakers are native bilinguals of both standardised Italian and regional varieties. Italian derives diachronically from Latin and is the closest national language to Latin. Unlike most other Romance languages, Italian retains Latin's contrast between short and long consonants. As in most Romance languages, stress is distinctive. In particular, among the Romance languages, Italian is the closest to Latin in terms of vocabulary. Lexical similarity is 89% with French, 87% with Sardinian, 85% with Catalan, 82% with Spanish, 78% with Rhaeto-Romance and 77% with Romanian.

Chelmsford is the county town of Essex, England, and the principal settlement of the borough of Chelmsford. It is located in the London commuter belt, approximately 32 miles (51 km) north east of Charing Cross, London, and approximately the same distance from the once provincial Roman capital at Colchester. The town currently has a population of approximately 102,400. The main conurbation incorporates all or part of the former parishes of: Broomfield, Great Baddow, Moulsham, Widford and Springfield, including Springfield Barnes, now more commonly know as Chelmer Village. The town is surrounded by many small villages that retain their original charm (examples of these are Danbury, Writtle, Good and High Easter, Roxwell, Mashbury, Chignal Smealy, Little Baddow, Great and Little Waltham, Howe Street, Pleshey and Bicknacre). Chelmsford is a modern, well placed town that has a large number of commuters who work in the City of London financial sector, and its residents are known as 'Chelmsfordians'.
