Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Hungarian Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Hungarian speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Hungarian teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Hungarian teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Hungarian lessons start.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Hungarian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Hungarian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Hungarian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Our Hungarian courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Hungarian lessons at Hertfordshire mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Hungarian Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Hungarian language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Hungarian course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON Hungarian language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Hungarian language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Hungarian courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Hungarian training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Hungarian courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Hertfordshire Hungarian Course Schedules

Our Hungarian language courses in Hertfordshire run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Hungarian teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Hungarian language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Hungarian language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Hungarian language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Hungarian survival language skills, or a more proficient Hungarian speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Hungarian for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Hungarian language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Hungarian language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Hungarian Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Hungarian examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Hungarian teachers in Hertfordshire with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Hungarian examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Hungarian is a Uralic language, part of the Ugric group, related to Finnish, Estonian and a number of minority languages spoken in the Baltic states and northern European Russia eastward into central Siberia. The Uralic languages are not related to the Indo-European languages that dominate Europe but have acquired loan words from them. It is the official language in the Central European country of Hungary and is also spoken by Hungarian communities in the seven neighbouring countries and by diaspora communities worldwide. There are about 16 million native speakers, of whom 9.5–10 million live in present-day Hungary.

Hertfordshire is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East region of England. The county town is Hertford. The county is one of the Home Counties and lies inland, bordered by Greater London (to the south), Buckinghamshire (to the west), Bedfordshire (including the unitary authorities of Luton and Central Bedfordshire to the north), Cambridgeshire (to the north east) and Essex (to the east). Hertfordshire was originally the area assigned to a fortress constructed at Hertford under the rule of Edward the Elder in 913. The name Hertford is derived from the Anglo-Saxon heort ford, meaning deer crossing (of a watercourse). The name Hertfordshire first appears in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle in 1011. Deer feature prominently in many county emblems. There is evidence of human beings living in Hertfordshire since the Middle Stone Age. It was first farmed during the Neolithic period and permanent habitation appeared at the beginning of the Bronze Age. This was followed by tribes settling in the area during the Iron Age.
