Hungarian Course Management

Hungarian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Cardiff Hungarian Course Schedules

Our Hungarian language courses in Cardiff go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Hungarian can be arranged on request. Our Hungarian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Hungarian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Hungarian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Hungarian language course we will assess your goals and level of Hungarian experience. Your desire to learn Hungarian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Hungarian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Hungarian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Hungarian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Hungarian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Hungarian teachers in Cardiff who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Hungarian examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Hungarian is a Uralic language, part of the Ugric group, related to Finnish, Estonian and a number of minority languages spoken in the Baltic states and northern European Russia eastward into central Siberia. The Uralic languages are not related to the Indo-European languages that dominate Europe but have acquired loan words from them. It is the official language in the Central European country of Hungary and is also spoken by Hungarian communities in the seven neighbouring countries and by diaspora communities worldwide. There are about 16 million native speakers, of whom 9.5–10 million live in present-day Hungary.

Cardiff is the capital, largest city and most populous county of Wales. The city is Wales' chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales. According to recent estimates, the population of the unitary authority area is 324,800, while the wider metropolitan area has a population of nearly 1.1 million, more than a third of the total Welsh population. Cardiff is a significant tourism centre and the most popular visitor destination in Wales with 14.6 million visitors in 2009. The city of Cardiff is the county town of the historic county of Glamorgan (and later South Glamorgan). Cardiff is part of the Eurocities network of the largest European cities.
