Hungarian Courses for Business in Cambridge

Please click a title below for further information:

Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Hungarian Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Hungarian speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Hungarian teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Hungarian teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Hungarian lessons start.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Hungarian lesson in Cambridge almost entirely in Hungarian - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Hungarian in a variety of social and business situations.

Our Hungarian language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Hungarian training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Hungarian in at Cambridge on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Hungarian Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Hungarian language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Hungarian course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Hungarian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Hungarian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Hungarian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Hungarian language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Cambridge Hungarian Course Schedules

We run Hungarian language courses in Cambridge all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Hungarian weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Hungarian language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Hungarian language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Hungarian language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Hungarian conversational skills or have more proficiency in Hungarian and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Hungarian for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Hungarian language trainers will work with you on a Hungarian language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Hungarian Language Examination Courses

Hungarian examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Hungarian teachers in Cambridge with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Hungarian examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Hungarian is a Uralic language, part of the Ugric group, related to Finnish, Estonian and a number of minority languages spoken in the Baltic states and northern European Russia eastward into central Siberia. The Uralic languages are not related to the Indo-European languages that dominate Europe but have acquired loan words from them. It is the official language in the Central European country of Hungary and is also spoken by Hungarian communities in the seven neighbouring countries and by diaspora communities worldwide. There are about 16 million native speakers, of whom 9.5–10 million live in present-day Hungary.

The city of Cambridge is a university town and the administrative centre of the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies in East Anglia about 50 miles (80 km) north-by-east of London. Cambridge is at the heart of the high-technology centre known as Silicon Fen – a play on Silicon Valley and the fens surrounding the city. Cambridge is well known as the home of the University of Cambridge. The university includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. The Cambridge skyline is dominated by the last two buildings, along with the chimney of Addenbrooke's Hospital in the far south of the city and St John's College Chapel tower in the north. According to the United Kingdom Census 2001, the city's population was 108,863 (including 22,153 students), and the population of the urban area (which includes parts of the neighbouring South Cambridgeshire district) is estimated to be 130,000.
