Please click a title below for further information:

Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Greek courses, taught by a team of qualified native Greek speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Greek tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Greek course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Greek teacher’s experience and background.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Greek course in Wolverhampton, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Greek. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Greek to communicate in social and business settings.

Our Greek language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Greek training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Greek in at Wolverhampton on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Greek Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Greek language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Greek language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

SIMON & SIMON’s Greek language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Greek language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Greek language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Full-time residential Greek language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

Wolverhampton Greek Course Schedules

Our Greek language courses in Wolverhampton run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Greek teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Greek language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Greek language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Greek language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Greek survival language skills, or a more proficient Greek speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Greek for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Greek language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Greek language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Greek Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Greek examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Greek teachers in Wolverhampton with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Greek examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Greek Courses Wolverhampton

Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems.

Wolverhampton is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands, England. In 2004, the local government district had an estimated population of 239,100; the wider Urban Area had a population of 251,462, which makes it the 13th most populous city in England. Historically a part of Staffordshire, and forming part of the metropolitan county of the West Midlands from 1974, the city is commonly recognised as being named after Lady Wulfrun, who founded the town in 985: its name coming from Anglo-Saxon Wulfrūnehēantūn = "Wulfrūn's high or principal enclosure or farm".Alternatively, the city may have earned its original name from Wulfereēantūn = "Wulfhere's high or principal enclosure or farm" after the Mercian King.Nevertheless, the name Wulfrun is commonly used in the city – for example, for the Wulfrun Centre or for Wulfrun Hall. The city's name is often abbreviated to Wolvo "W'ton" or "Wolves". The city council's motto is "Out of darkness, cometh light". People from Wolverhampton are known as Wulfrunians. The city grew initially as a market town with specialism within the woollen trade. During and after the Industrial Revolution, the city became a major industrial centre, with mining (mostly coal, limestone and iron ore) as well as production of steel, japanning, locks, motorcycles and cars – including the first vehicle to hold the Land speed record at over 200 mph. Today, the major industries within the city are both engineering based (including a large aerospace industry) and within the service sector.
