Greek Courses for Business in PeterboroughPlease click a title below for further information: All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Greek Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Greek speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience.
Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Greek teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Greek teacher before they commence their Greek lessons. If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile.
Your Greek teacher in Peterborough will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Greek. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Greek. Our Greek language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Greek training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful.
Those learning Greek in at Peterborough on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses. Greek Course ManagementEach of SIMON & SIMON’s Greek languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager.
When you start your Greek course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources. We have a global network of language trainers so our Greek language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Greek language courses for clients in many diverse locations.
Greek language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel.

We also arrange weekend Greek courses on request. Our Greek programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Intensive 30 hour per week Greek language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday. Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Greek course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Greek and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on.
You may desire simply to gain everyday Greek skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Greek and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing.
You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Greek for use in negotiations and meetings.
Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Greek language trainers will tailor your Greek course so that your goals will be met quickly. Greek Language Examination CoursesIf you are taking a Greek examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Greek teachers in Peterborough whose experience is above average.
SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Greek examination, administer the examination and issue you your results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Greek Courses Peterborough Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems. Peterborough is a cathedral city and unitary authority area in the East of England, with an estimated population of 164,000 in June 2007. For ceremonial purposes it is in the county of Cambridgeshire. Situated 75 miles (121 km) north of London, the city stands athwart the River Nene, which flows into the North Sea approximately 30 miles (48 km) to the north-east. The railway station is an important stop on the East Coast Main Line railway.
The local topography is flat and low-lying, and in some places lies below sea level. The area known as the Fens falls to the east of Peterborough. The City of Peterborough includes the outlying military installation of RAF Wittering, and as a unitary authority it borders Northamptonshire and Rutland to the west, Lincolnshire to the north, and Cambridgeshire to the south and east.
Human settlement in the area dates back to before the Bronze Age, as can be seen at the Flag Fen archaeological site to the east of the current city centre. This site also shows evidence of Roman occupation. The Anglo-Saxon period saw the establishment of a monastery, then known as Medeshamstede, which later became Peterborough Cathedral. The population grew rapidly following the arrival of the railways in the nineteenth century, and Peterborough became an industrial centre, particularly noted for its brick manufacture.
Following the Second World War, growth was limited until designation as a New Town in the 1960s.
