Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Greek Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Greek speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Greek teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Greek teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Greek lessons start.

If you have only studied languages before at school you will find that teaching approaches to modern language training have changed enormously in recent years - it's now a lot more fun and a far more rewarding experience! Your teacher will conduct your Greek lesson in Milton Keynes almost entirely in Greek - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Greek in a variety of social and business situations.

Our Greek language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Greek training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Greek in at Milton Keynes on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Greek Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Greek language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Greek language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

The Greek language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Greek language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Greek lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Greek lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Greek language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Milton Keynes Greek Course Schedules

We run our Greek language courses in Milton Keynes all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Greek courses on request. Our Greek programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Greek language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Greek course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Greek and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Greek skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Greek and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Greek for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Greek language trainers will tailor your Greek course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Greek Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Greek examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Greek teachers in Milton Keynes whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Greek examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Breaking the Language Barrier

Back to top of Greek Courses Milton Keynes

Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems.

Milton Keynes is a large town in Buckinghamshire, in the south east of England, about 49 miles (79 km) north-west of London. It is also the administrative centre of the Borough of Milton Keynes. It was formally designated as a new town on 23 January 1967, with the design brief to become a 'city' in scale. Its 89 km2 (34 sq mi) area incorporated the existing towns of Bletchley, Wolverton and Stony Stratford along with another fifteen villages and farmland in between. It took its name from the existing village of Milton Keynes, a few miles east of the planned centre. At the 2001 census the population of the Milton Keynes urban area, including the adjacent Newport Pagnell, was 184,506, and that of the wider borough, which has been a unitary authority independent of Buckinghamshire County Council since 1997, was 207,063 (compared with a population of around 53,000 for the same area in 1961). The Borough’s population is currently estimated to be over 230,000.
