The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile.
The Communicative Approach means that your Greek lessons in Leeds will be almost entirely through the medium of Greek. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Greek with confidence, in a range of social and business environments. The Greek courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Greek training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Greek courses at Leeds are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Greek Course ManagementA multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Greek language course.
A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Greek course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks. We have a global network of language trainers so our Greek language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Greek language courses for clients in many diverse locations.
Greek language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel.

Leeds Greek Course SchedulesWe run our Greek language courses in Leeds all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly.
We also arrange weekend Greek courses on request. Our Greek programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Intensive 30 hour per week Greek language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday. Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Greek course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Greek and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on.
You may desire simply to gain everyday Greek skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Greek and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing.
You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Greek for use in negotiations and meetings.
Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Greek language trainers will tailor your Greek course so that your goals will be met quickly. Greek Language Examination CoursesIf you are taking a Greek examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Greek teachers in Leeds whose experience is above average.
SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Greek examination, administer the examination and issue you your results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Greek Courses Leeds Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems. Leeds is a city and metropolitan borough in West Yorkshire, England. In 2001 Leeds' main urban subdivision had a population of 443,247, while the entire city had a population of 770,800 (2008 est.). Leeds is the cultural, financial and commercial heart of the West Yorkshire Urban Area, which at the 2001 census had a population of 1.5 million, and the Leeds city region, an economic area with Leeds at its core, had a population of 2.9 million. Leeds is the UK's largest centre for business, legal, and financial services outside London.
Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Leeds can trace its recorded history to fifth century when the Kingdom of Elmet was covered by the forest of "Loidis", the origin of the name Leeds. The name has been applied to many administrative entities over the centuries. It changed from being the appellation of a small manorial borough, in the 13th century, through several incarnations, to being the name attached to the present metropolitan borough. In the 17th and 18th centuries Leeds became a major centre for the production and trading of wool. Then, during the Industrial Revolution, Leeds developed into a major industrial centre; wool was still the dominant industry but flax, engineering, iron foundries, printing and other industries were important. From being a compact market town in the valley of the River Aire in the 16th century Leeds expanded and absorbed the surrounding villages to become a populous urban centre by the mid-20th century.
