Greek Courses for Business in Glasgow

Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Greek Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Greek speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Greek teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Greek teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Greek lessons start.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Greek teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Greek means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Greek in a social or business setting will be no problem.

We offer Greek courses as group sessions or on a 1:1 basis/ Most of our clients offer their employees 1:1 Greek training, however, if planned carefully, with participants numbering 6 or less who commit to meeting every week, group sessions can be good value for money. Those who learn Greek at Glasgow on a 1:1 basis will find that they progress more quickly, as the lessons can be specifically tailored for their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Greek Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Greek language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Greek language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

The Greek language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Greek language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Greek lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Greek lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Greek language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Glasgow Greek Course Schedules

Our Greek language courses in Glasgow run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our Greek teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive Greek language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your Greek language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your Greek language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day Greek survival language skills, or a more proficient Greek speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your Greek for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced Greek language trainers you can be confident that the content of your Greek language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

Greek Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for Greek examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with Greek teachers in Glasgow with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of Greek examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Greek Courses Glasgow

Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and third most populous in the United Kingdom. The city is situated on the River Clyde in the country's west central lowlands. A person from Glasgow is known as a Glaswegian or as locals say "weegie". Glasgow grew from the medieval Bishopric of Glasgow and the later establishment of the University of Glasgow in the 15th century, which subsequently became a major centre of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th century. From the 18th century the city also grew as one of Britain's main hubs of transatlantic trade with British North America and the British West Indies. With the Industrial Revolution, the city and surrounding region shifted to become one of the world's pre-eminent centres of Heavy Engineering, most notably in the Shipbuilding and Marine engineering industry, which produced many innovative and famous vessels. Glasgow was known as the "Second City of the British Empire" for much of the Victorian era and Edwardian period. Today it is one of Europe's top twenty financial centres and is home to many of Scotland's leading businesses. Glasgow is also ranked as the 57th most liveable city in the world.
