Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Greek Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Greek speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience. Our Greek teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Greek teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Greek lessons start.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Greek teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Greek means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Greek in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Greek language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Greek training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Greek in Brighton on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Greek Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Greek language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Greek course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Greek language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Greek language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Greek lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Greek lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Greek language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Brighton Greek Course Schedules

Our Greek language courses in Brighton take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Greek daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Greek language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Greek language course that you undertake will be customised for your Greek level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Greek level. You may have little or no experience of Greek and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Greek skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Greek language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Greek course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Greek Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Greek examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Greek teachers in Brighton who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Greek examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Greek Courses Brighton

Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems.

Brighton is the major part of the city of Brighton and Hove (formed from the previous towns of Brighton, Hove, Portslade and several other villages) in East Sussex on the south coast of Great Britain. For administrative purposes, Brighton and Hove is not part of the non-metropolitan county of East Sussex, but remains part of the ceremonial county of East Sussex, within the historic County of Sussex. The ancient settlement of Brighthelmstone dates from before Domesday Book (1086), but it emerged as a health resort featuring sea bathing during the 18th century and became a destination for day-trippers from London after the arrival of the railway in 1841. Brighton experienced rapid population growth, reaching a peak of over 160,000 by 1961. Modern Brighton forms part of the Brighton/Worthing/Littlehampton conurbation stretching along the coast, with a population of around 480,000. Brighton has long been renowned throughout the UK and Europe as gay-friendly, and is home to a large LGBT community. Eight million tourists a year visit Brighton. The city has a substantial business conference industry regularly hosting the Liberal Democrats, Labour Party, Conservative Party and Trade Union annual conferences. Brighton has two universities and a medical school.
