Your teacher will conduct your Greek lesson in Bedfordshire almost entirely in Greek - a method known as the Communicative Approach - and you will find yourself making progress from the very first lesson and soon growing in the confidence to communicate in Greek in a variety of social and business situations. Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Greek language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Greek training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7.
Progress is faster for those who learn Greek in Bedfordshire on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses. Bedfordshire Greek Course SchedulesOur Greek language courses in Bedfordshire take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week.
If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Greek daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday.
We also provide Intensive Greek language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday. The Greek language course that you undertake will be customised for your Greek level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Greek level.
You may have little or no experience of Greek and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business.
You may want to raise your Greek skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills.
Whatever your objectives, our Greek language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Greek course will help you to meet your goals quickly. Greek Language Examination CoursesSIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Greek examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Greek teachers in Bedfordshire who possess above average experience.
Registration for and administration of Greek examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Greek Courses Bedfordshire Greek an independent branch of the Indo-European family of languages, is the language of the Greeks. Native to the southern Balkans, it has the longest documented history of any Indo-European language, spanning 34 centuries of written records. Its writing system has been the Greek alphabet for the majority of its history; other systems, such as Linear B and the Cypriot syllabary, were previously used. The alphabet arose from the Phoenician script, and was in turn the basis of the Latin, Cyrillic, Coptic, and many other writing systems. Bedfordshire is a ceremonial county of historic origin in England that forms part of the East of England region. It borders Cambridgeshire to the north-east, Northamptonshire to the north, Buckinghamshire to the west and Hertfordshire to the south-east. The highest elevation point is 243 metres (797 ft) on Dunstable Downs in the Chilterns.
As part of a 2002 marketing campaign, the plant conservation charity Plantlife chose the Bee Orchid as the county flower. The traditional nickname for people from Bedfordshire is "Bedfordshire Bulldogs" or "Clangers", this last deriving from a local dish comprising a suet crust dumpling filled with meat or jam or both.
The first recorded use of the name was in 1011 as "Bedanfordscir," meaning the shire or county of Bedford, which itself means "Beda's ford" (river crossing). Bedfordshire was historically divided into the nine hundreds: Barford, Biggleswade, Clifton, Flitt, Manshead, Redbournestoke, Stodden, Willey, Wixamtree, along with the liberty and borough of Bedford. There have been several minor changes to the county boundary; for example, in 1897 Kensworth and part of Caddington were transferred from Hertfordshire to Bedfordshire.
