Feedback from clients on our German tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their German Lessons. If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile.
Your German teacher in Staffordshire will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in German. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in German. Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our German language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 German training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7.
Progress is faster for those who learn German in Staffordshire on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses. German Course ManagementEvery SIMON & SIMON German language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it.
When your German course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. 30 hour per week intensive German courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday. We will tailor your German language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your German language course we will assess your goals and level of German experience.
Your desire to learn German may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use German to discuss business.
You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use German in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills.
No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our German trainers experience and that your German language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met. German Language Examination CoursesOur students’ pass rate for German examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with German teachers in Staffordshire who have a higher level of experience than average.
SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for German examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of German Courses Staffordshire German is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Globally, German is spoken by approximately 120 million native speakers and also by about 80 million non-native speakers. Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide.
German is primarily spoken in Germany (where it is the first language for more than 95% of the population), Austria (89%) and Switzerland (65%). German is also spoken by the majority of the populations of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
Other European German-speaking communities are found in Northern Italy (in the Province of Bolzano-Bozen and in some municipalities in other provinces), in the East Cantons of Belgium, in the French regions of Alsace and Lorraine, and in some border villages of the former South Jutland County (in German, Nordschleswig, in Danish, Sønderjylland) of Denmark. Staffordshire is a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England. Part of the National Forest lies within its borders. It adjoins the ceremonial counties of Cheshire (to the north west), Derbyshire (to the east), Leicestershire (to the east), Warwickshire (to the south east), West Midlands (to the south), Worcestershire (to the south), and Shropshire (to the west).
The largest city in Staffordshire is Stoke-on-Trent, which is administered separately from the rest of the county as an independent unitary authority. Lichfield also has city status, although this is a considerably smaller cathedral city. Major towns include Stafford (the county town), Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Tamworth. Wolverhampton and Walsall were also in Staffordshire until local government reorganisation in 1974, but are now within the West Midlands county. Apart from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire is divided into the districts of Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Newcastle-under-Lyme, South Staffordshire, Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands, and Tamworth.
