German Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON German language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your German course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our German language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run German language courses for clients in many diverse locations. German language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Somerset German Course Schedules

Our German language courses in Somerset go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in German can be arranged on request. Our German courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive German courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your German language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your German language course we will assess your goals and level of German experience. Your desire to learn German may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use German to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use German in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. German Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for German examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

German is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. Somerset is a county in South West England. The county town of Somerset is Taunton, which is in the south of the county. The ceremonial county of Somerset borders the counties of Bristol and Gloucestershire to the north, Wiltshire to the east, Dorset to the south-east, and Devon to the south-west. It is partly bounded to the north and west by the coast of the Bristol Channel and the estuary of the River Severn.
