Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON German Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified German teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our German tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their German Lessons.

The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile. The Communicative Approach means that your German lessons in Rutland will be almost entirely through the medium of German. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in German with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.

Our German language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 German training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning German in at Rutland on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

German Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s German language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your German course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON’s German language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a German language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange German language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Full-time residential German language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

Rutland German Course Schedules

Our German language courses in Rutland run throughout the year. The majority of our students attend at least one 90-minute session per week and many students will try to do more than one session depending on work commitments. Our German teachers are available Monday - Friday from 8am - 8pm, and Weekend Courses can also be arranged on request. Our intensive German language courses run for 30 hours per week, (6 hours per day Monday - Friday), and take place on our clients' premises or at a residential centre here in the UK or abroad.

The content of your German language course will reflect your level and your particular objectives. We will assess your German language level before your course, and discuss with you in detail the subject areas you wish to focus on. You may be a complete beginner looking for day-to-day German survival language skills, or a more proficient German speaker needing to improve your fluency when discussing areas such as law, banking, finance, insurance, sales, travel, marketing, and administration. You may want to focus on improving your German for meetings, discussions and negotiations, or to concentrate on improving your listening comprehension, pronunciation and telephone skills. Whatever your needs, working with one of our highly experienced German language trainers you can be confident that the content of your German language course will be tailored just for you and that you will soon be meeting your objectives.

German Language Examination Courses

We can also help prepare you for German examinations of a business or general nature. We are proud to say our students have a 95% pass rate in language examinations, and their success further underlines the value we place on working with German teachers in Rutland with above average experience. As part of our service, SIMON & SIMON will also organise the registration and administration of German examinations and the issuing of result certificates.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of German Courses Rutland

German is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Globally, German is spoken by approximately 120 million native speakers and also by about 80 million non-native speakers. Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide. German is primarily spoken in Germany (where it is the first language for more than 95% of the population), Austria (89%) and Switzerland (65%). German is also spoken by the majority of the populations of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. Other European German-speaking communities are found in Northern Italy (in the Province of Bolzano-Bozen and in some municipalities in other provinces), in the East Cantons of Belgium, in the French regions of Alsace and Lorraine, and in some border villages of the former South Jutland County (in German, Nordschleswig, in Danish, Sønderjylland) of Denmark.

Rutland is a landlocked county in central England, bounded on the west and north by Leicestershire, northeast by Lincolnshire, and southeast by Peterborough (a unitary authority ceremonially in Cambridgeshire) and Northamptonshire. Its greatest length north to south is only 18 miles (29.0 km), greatest breadth east to west, 17 miles (27.4 km). It is the smallest (in terms of population) normal unitary authority in mainland England (only the City of London is smaller in terms of area), and is 348th of the 354 districts in terms of population. It is the smallest historic English county, leading to the adoption of the Latin motto Multum In Parvo or "much in little" by the county council in 1950. Among modern ceremonial counties the Isle of Wight, City of London and City of Bristol are all smaller. The former County of London, in existence 1889 to 1965, also had a smaller area. The only towns in Rutland are Oakham, the county town, and Uppingham. At the centre of the county is the large artificial reservoir, Rutland Water, with a similar surface area to Windermere. It is an important nature reserve serving as an overwintering site for wildfowl and a breeding site for ospreys. The town of Stamford is just over the border in a protruding part of Lincolnshire. Rutland's older cottages are built from limestone or ironstone and many have roofs of Collyweston stone slate or thatch.
