German Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s German language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your German course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. The German language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your German language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their German lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run German lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time German language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Cardiff German Course Schedules

We run our German language courses in Cardiff all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend German courses on request. Our German programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week German language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your German course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of German and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday German skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in German and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your German for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced German language trainers will tailor your German course so that your goals will be met quickly.

German Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a German examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with German teachers in Cardiff whose experience is above average. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

German is a West Germanic language, thus related to and classified alongside English and Dutch. It is one of the world's major languages and the most widely spoken first language in the European Union. Globally, German is spoken by approximately 120 million native speakers and also by about 80 million non-native speakers. Standard German is widely taught in schools, universities and Goethe Institutes worldwide. German is primarily spoken in Germany (where it is the first language for more than 95% of the population), Austria (89%) and Switzerland (65%). Cardiff is the capital, largest city and most populous county of Wales. The city is Wales' chief commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting institutions, the Welsh national media, and the seat of the National Assembly for Wales.
