SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified native Dutch speaking teachers average 15 years of experience. Professionals and private individuals from all over the UK have benefited from SIMON & SIMON’s Dutch language courses, all of which are tailor-made to reflect each student's level of experience. We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Dutch tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Dutch tutor before they start their course of lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Dutch teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Dutch means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Dutch in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Dutch courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Dutch courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Dutch in Stoke-on-Trent on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Dutch Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Dutch language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Dutch language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

The Dutch language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Dutch language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Dutch lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Dutch lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Dutch language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Stoke-on-Trent Dutch Course Schedules

We run our Dutch language courses in Stoke-on-Trent all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Dutch courses on request. Our Dutch programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Dutch language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Dutch course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Dutch and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Dutch skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Dutch and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Dutch for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Dutch language trainers will tailor your Dutch course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Dutch Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Dutch examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Dutch teachers in Stoke-on-Trent whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Dutch examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Dutch Courses Stoke-on-Trent

Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Stoke-on-Trent is a city in Staffordshire, England, which forms a linear conurbation almost 12 miles (19 km) long, with an area of 36 square miles (93 km2). Together with the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme Stoke forms The Potteries Urban Area. This, together with the rural Staffordshire Moorlands area, forms North Staffordshire, which in 2001, had a population of 457,165. The conurbation continues to be polycentric, having been formed by the federation of six originally separate towns and numerous villages in the early-20th century. The settlement from which the federated town (not a city until 1925) took its name was Stoke-upon-Trent, because this was where the administration (and chief mainline railway station) was located. After the union, Hanley emerged as the primary commercial centre in the city, despite the efforts of its rival, Burslem. The three other component towns are Tunstall, Longton, and Fenton. Stoke-on-Trent is considered to be the home of the pottery industry in England and is commonly known as The Potteries. Formerly a primarily industrial conurbation, it is now a centre for service industries and distribution centres.
