All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Dutch Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Dutch speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Dutch teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Dutch teacher before they commence their Dutch lessons.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Dutch course in Staffordshire, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Dutch. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Dutch to communicate in social and business settings.

Our Dutch courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Dutch lessons at Staffordshire mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Dutch Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Dutch languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Dutch course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

Dutch language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Dutch language course. We can arrange your Dutch language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Dutch language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Staffordshire Dutch Course Schedules

We run Dutch language courses in Staffordshire all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Dutch weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Dutch language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Dutch language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Dutch language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Dutch conversational skills or have more proficiency in Dutch and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Dutch for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Dutch language trainers will work with you on a Dutch language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Dutch Language Examination Courses

Dutch examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Dutch teachers in Staffordshire with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Dutch examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Dutch Courses Staffordshire

Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Staffordshire is a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England. Part of the National Forest lies within its borders. It adjoins the ceremonial counties of Cheshire (to the north west), Derbyshire (to the east), Leicestershire (to the east), Warwickshire (to the south east), West Midlands (to the south), Worcestershire (to the south), and Shropshire (to the west). The largest city in Staffordshire is Stoke-on-Trent, which is administered separately from the rest of the county as an independent unitary authority. Lichfield also has city status, although this is a considerably smaller cathedral city. Major towns include Stafford (the county town), Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Tamworth. Wolverhampton and Walsall were also in Staffordshire until local government reorganisation in 1974, but are now within the West Midlands county. Apart from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire is divided into the districts of Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Newcastle-under-Lyme, South Staffordshire, Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands, and Tamworth.
