Our Dutch teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Dutch teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Dutch lessons start.
Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding.
Your Dutch lessons in Stafford will be carried out almost completely in Dutch. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Dutch to communicate in various business and social situations. The Dutch courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Dutch training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Dutch courses at Stafford are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Dutch Course ManagementEach of SIMON & SIMON’s Dutch languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager.
When you start your Dutch course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources. We have a global network of language trainers so our Dutch language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. Stafford Dutch Course SchedulesWe run our Dutch language courses in Stafford all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly.
We also arrange weekend Dutch courses on request. Our Dutch programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Intensive 30 hour per week Dutch language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday. Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Dutch course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Dutch and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on.
You may desire simply to gain everyday Dutch skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Dutch and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing.
You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Dutch for use in negotiations and meetings.
Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Dutch language trainers will tailor your Dutch course so that your goals will be met quickly. Dutch Language Examination CoursesIf you are taking a Dutch examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Dutch teachers in Stafford whose experience is above average.
SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Dutch examination, administer the examination and issue you your results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Dutch Courses Stafford Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Stafford is the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies approximately 16 miles (26 km) north of Wolverhampton and 18 miles (29 km) south of Stoke-on-Trent, adjacent to the M6 motorway Junction 13 to Junction 14. The population of Stafford was given in the 2001 census as 63,681, with that of the wider borough of Stafford as 122,000, making Stafford the fourth largest settlement in the Ceremonial county, after Stoke on Trent, Tamworth and Newcastle under Lyme.
Stafford means 'ford' by a 'staithe' (landing place). The original settlement was on an island in the middle of the marshes of the River Sow, a tributary of the River Trent. There is still a large area of marshland northwest of the town, which has always been subject to flooding, such as in 1947, 2000 and 2007.
It's thought Stafford was founded in about 700 AD by Mercian prince called Bertelin who, according to legend, established a hermitage on a secluded marshy island. The remains of a wooden preaching cross were discovered under the foundations of St Bertelin's Church in the centre of the town.
