Dutch Courses for Business in SomersetPlease click a title below for further information: Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Dutch Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Dutch teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency.
Feedback from clients on our Dutch tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Dutch Lessons. If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile.
Your Dutch teacher in Somerset will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Dutch. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Dutch. The Dutch courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Dutch training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week.
If you require faster progress, 1:1 Dutch courses at Somerset are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths. Dutch Course ManagementSIMON & SIMON’s Dutch language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual.
At the start of your Dutch course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources. SIMON & SIMON’s Dutch language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Dutch language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere.
We can arrange Dutch language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel.
Full-time residential Dutch language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.

30 hour per week intensive Dutch courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday. We will tailor your Dutch language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Dutch language course we will assess your goals and level of Dutch experience.
Your desire to learn Dutch may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Dutch to discuss business.
You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Dutch in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills.
No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Dutch trainers experience and that your Dutch language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met. Dutch Language Examination CoursesOur students’ pass rate for Dutch examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Dutch teachers in Somerset who have a higher level of experience than average.
SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Dutch examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Dutch Courses Somerset Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Somerset is a county in South West England. The county town of Somerset is Taunton, which is in the south of the county. The ceremonial county of Somerset borders the counties of Bristol and Gloucestershire to the north, Wiltshire to the east, Dorset to the south-east, and Devon to the south-west. It is partly bounded to the north and west by the coast of the Bristol Channel and the estuary of the River Severn. The traditional northern border of the county is the River Avon, but the administrative boundary has crept southwards, with the creation and expansion of the City of Bristol, and latterly the county of Avon and its successor Unitary Authorities in the north.
Somerset is a rural county of rolling hills such as the Mendip Hills, Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park, and large flat expanses of land including the Somerset Levels. There is evidence of human occupation from Neolithic times, and subsequent settlement in the Roman and Saxon periods. Later, the county played a significant part in the consolidation of power and rise of King Alfred the Great, the English Civil War and the Monmouth Rebellion.
