These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Dutch lessons in Essex will be carried out almost completely in Dutch. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Dutch to communicate in various business and social situations.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Dutch language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Dutch training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Dutch in Essex on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Dutch Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Dutch language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Dutch course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

SIMON & SIMON Dutch language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Dutch language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Dutch courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Dutch training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Dutch courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Essex Dutch Course Schedules

We run Dutch language courses in Essex all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow. Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Dutch weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Dutch language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week.

Your Dutch language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Dutch language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in. Students may be complete novices who need everyday Dutch conversational skills or have more proficiency in Dutch and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently. Students may desire to bolster their Dutch for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills. No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Dutch language trainers will work with you on a Dutch language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals.

Dutch Language Examination Courses

Dutch examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Dutch teachers in Essex with experience above the average. SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Dutch examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Dutch Courses Essex

Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Essex is a ceremonial and non-metropolitan county in the East region of England, and one of the home counties. It is located to the northeast of Greater London and is one of the most populous counties in England. Essex County Council is the principal local authority for much of the county, sharing functions with twelve district councils. The county town is Chelmsford. The southern Essex boroughs of Thurrock and Southend-on-Sea are governed separately as unitary authorities. It was established in antiquity and formed the eastern portion of the Kingdom of Essex. Sections of the county closer to London are part of the Metropolitan Green Belt, which prohibits development. It is the location of the regionally significant Lakeside Shopping Centre and London Stansted Airport; and the new towns of Basildon and Harlow. The name Essex originates in the Anglo-Saxon period of the Early Middle Ages and has its root in the Old English Ēastseaxe (i.e. the "East Saxons"), the eastern kingdom of the Saxons.
