Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Dutch courses, taught by a team of qualified native Dutch speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Dutch tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Dutch course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Dutch teacher’s experience and background.

Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Dutch lessons in Colchester will be carried out almost completely in Dutch. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Dutch to communicate in various business and social situations.

The Dutch courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Dutch training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Dutch courses at Colchester are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Dutch Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Dutch language course. On starting your Dutch course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

SIMON & SIMON Dutch language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Dutch language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Dutch courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Dutch training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Dutch courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Colchester Dutch Course Schedules

Our Dutch language courses in Colchester go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Dutch can be arranged on request. Our Dutch courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Dutch courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Dutch language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Dutch language course we will assess your goals and level of Dutch experience. Your desire to learn Dutch may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Dutch to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Dutch in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. No matter what goals you have, you can be confident of our Dutch trainers experience and that your Dutch language course is tailored to your needs and your goals will be quickly met.

Dutch Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Dutch examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Dutch teachers in Colchester who have a higher level of experience than average. SIMON & SIMON also arrange registration for Dutch examinations as well as administering the examination and issuing the results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Most speakers live in the European Union, where it is a first language for about 23 million and a second language for another 5 million people. It also holds official status in the Caribbean island nations of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten, while historical minorities remain in parts of France and Germany, and to a lesser extent, in Indonesia, and up to 600,000 native Dutch-speakers may be living in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Colchester is an historical town and the largest settlement within the borough of Colchester in Essex, England. At the time of the census in 2001 it had a population of 104,390. However, the population is rapidly increasing, and has been named as one of Britain's fastest growing towns. As the oldest recorded Roman town in Britain, Colchester claims to be the oldest town in Britain. It was for a time the capital of Roman Britain and also claims to have the United Kingdom's oldest recorded market. Colchester is 60 miles (97 km) northeast of London. It is connected to the capital by the A12 road and the Great Eastern Main Line. It is seen as a popular town for commuters, and is less than 30 miles away from Stansted Airport. Colchester is home to the University of Essex, Colchester Zoo, Colchester Castle and Colchester United Football Club. It has a Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament.
