Dutch Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Dutch language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Dutch language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. Belfast Dutch Course Schedules

We run our Dutch language courses in Belfast all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Dutch courses on request. Our Dutch programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Dutch language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Dutch course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Dutch and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Dutch skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Dutch and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Dutch for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Dutch language trainers will tailor your Dutch course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Dutch Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Dutch examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Dutch is a West Germanic language and the native language of the majority of the population of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Suriname, the three member states of the Dutch Language Union. Belfast is the capital of and largest city in Northern Ireland, as well as the second largest city in Ireland. It is the seat of devolved government and legislative Northern Ireland Assembly.
