Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Czech lessons in Lincoln will be carried out almost completely in Czech. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Czech to communicate in various business and social situations.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Czech language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Czech training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Czech in Lincoln on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Czech Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Czech language course. On starting your Czech course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

The Czech language courses of SIMON & SIMON have been run in numerous locations. As we have a global network of language trainers your Czech language course can be arranged in major cities across Europe and further afield. Most of our clients arrange for their Czech lessons to be run in their offices so that there is less need for travel, but we can also run Czech lessons in your home. We also run residential full-time Czech language courses in a variety of locations which our office will be happy to inform you of.

Lincoln Czech Course Schedules

Our Czech language courses in Lincoln take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Czech daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Czech language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Czech language course that you undertake will be customised for your Czech level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Czech level. You may have little or no experience of Czech and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Czech skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Czech language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Czech course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Czech Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Czech examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Czech teachers in Lincoln who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Czech examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Czech Courses Lincoln

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

Lincoln is a cathedral city and county town of Lincolnshire, England. The non-metropolitan district of Lincoln has a population of 85,595; the 2001 census gave the entire urban area of Lincoln a population of 120,779. The council identifies a 'Greater Lincoln' catchment area covering surrounding villages and towns, which has a population of 250,000. It has several twin towns: Port Lincoln, South Australia; Radomsko, Poland; Tangshan, China; and Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany. The earliest origins of Lincoln can be traced to the remains of an Iron Age settlement of round wooden dwellings (which were discovered by archaeologists in 1972) that have been dated to the 1st century BC. This settlement was built by a deep pool (the modern Brayford Pool) in the River Witham at the foot of a large hill (on which the Normans later built Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle). The origins of the name Lincoln may come from this period, when the settlement is thought to have been named in the Brythonic language of Iron Age Britain's Celtic inhabitants as Lindon "The Pool", presumably referring to the Brayford Pool (compare the etymology of the name Dublin, from the Gaelic "dubh linn" ("black pool"). It is not possible to know how big this original settlement was as its remains are now buried deep beneath the later Roman and medieval ruins, as well as the modern city of Lincoln.
