All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Czech Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Czech speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Czech teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Czech teacher before they commence their Czech lessons.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Czech course in Leicester, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Czech. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Czech to communicate in social and business settings.

Our Czech language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Czech training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful. Those learning Czech in at Leicester on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses.

Czech Course Management

A multi-lingual Account Manager with extensive experience is responsible for each SIMON & SIMON Czech language course. A profile on your trainer, Course Plan and course materials will be sent to you when you start your Czech course. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will also send you Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains a wonderful prize draw and valuable language learning resource weblinks.

Czech language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Czech language course. We can arrange your Czech language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Czech language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Leicester Czech Course Schedules

The Czech language courses in Leicester that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Czech courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Czech language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Czech language course we will assess your level of Czech and speak to you about your aims so that your Czech language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Czech before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Czech when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Czech in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Czech language trainers will tailor your Czech course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Czech Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Czech examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Czech teachers in Leicester. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Czech examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Czech Courses Leicester

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

Leicester is a city and unitary authority area in the East Midlands area of England. It is also the county town of Leicestershire. The city lies on the River Soar and at the edge of the National Forest. In 2006, the population of the Leicester unitary authority was estimated at 289,700, the largest in the East Midlands, whilst 441,213 people lived in the wider Leicester Urban Area. Eurostat's Larger Urban Zone listed the population of the area at 772,400 people as of 2004. Leicester is the 10th most populous settlement in the United Kingdom using the 2001 census definitions and the urban area is the fifteenth largest conurbation in the UK, the second largest in the region behind the Nottingham Urban Area. Ancient Roman pavements and baths remain in Leicester from its early settlement as Ratae Corieltauvorum, a Roman military outpost in a region inhabited by the Celtic Corieltauvi tribe. Following the demise of Roman society the early medieval Ratae Corieltauvorum is shrouded in obscurity, but when the settlement was captured by the Danes it became one of five fortified towns important to the Danelaw. The name "Leicester" is thought to derive from the words castra of the "Ligore", meaning a camp on the River Legro, an early name for the River Soar. Leicester appears in the Domesday Book as "Ledecestre". Leicester continued to grow throughout the Early Modern period as a market town, although it was the Industrial Revolution that facilitated an unparalleled process of unplanned urbanisation in the area.
