The Czech courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Czech training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Czech courses at Isle-of-Wight are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Czech Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Czech language course is overseen by one of our highly experienced Account Managers, all of whom are multi-lingual. At the start of your Czech language course we will send you a profile on your trainer, followed by a Course Plan and relevant course materials, and then a Progress Report after every 40 hours of training. You will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, featuring a superb prize draw and invaluable weblinks to language learning sources.

SIMON & SIMON’s Czech language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Czech language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere. We can arrange Czech language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel. Isle-of-Wight Czech Course Schedules

The Czech language courses in Isle-of-Wight that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Czech courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Czech language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Czech language course we will assess your level of Czech and speak to you about your aims so that your Czech language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Czech before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Czech when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Czech in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Czech language trainers will tailor your Czech course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Czech Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Czech examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Czech teachers in Isle-of-Wight. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Czech examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

The Isle of Wight is a county and the largest island of England, located in the English Channel, 3–5 miles (5–8 km) off the south coast of the county of Hampshire, separated from the mainland by a strait called the Solent. The island is known for its natural beauty, its sailing based at the town of Cowes, and its resorts, which have been holiday destinations since Victorian times. The Island has a rich history, including a brief status as an independent kingdom in the 15th century. Until 1995, in common with Jersey and Guernsey, the island had its own Governor - most notably Lord Mountbatten from 1969–1974, after which he became Lord Lieutenant until his assassination in 1979. It was home to the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, and to Queen Victoria, who built her much loved summer residence and final home Osborne House at East Cowes. The island's maritime and industrial history encompasses boat building, sail making, the manufacture of flying boats, the world's first hovercraft and the testing and development of Britain's space rockets. It is home to the Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival, Bestival and the recently-revived Isle of Wight Festival, which, in 1970, was the largest rock music event ever held. The island has some exceptional wildlife and is one of the richest locations of dinosaur fossils in Europe. In the past, the Isle of Wight has been part of Hampshire. In 1890, it became an independent administrative county, though it continued to share the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire.
