Designed and customised for the individual student’s needs, SIMON & SIMON’s Czech courses, taught by a team of qualified native Czech speakers who average 15 years of experience, have already benefited professionals and non-professionals across the UK. Courses cater for all levels of experience. The feedback on our Czech tutors that we receive from our clients is consistently excellent. Prior to the start of your Czech course, you will be sent a profile on your specific Czech teacher’s experience and background.

The way that modern languages are taught has gone through a revolution in the past few years. If you have only learned languages at school you will find that the experience now is vastly more fun and worthwhile. The Communicative Approach means that your Czech lessons in Greater Manchester will be almost entirely through the medium of Czech. You will feel that you are making real progress, even in the first lesson, and will soon communicate in Czech with confidence, in a range of social and business environments.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Czech language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Czech training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Czech in Greater Manchester on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Czech Course Management

Every SIMON & SIMON Czech language course has a highly experienced, multi-lingual Account Manager who oversees it. When your Czech course starts you will be sent a profile on your trainer, materials for your course and a Course Plan as well as a Progress Report for every 40 hours of training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter that you will also receive, contains a prize draw as well as weblinks to a number of learning resources.

Czech language courses have been run by SIMON & SIMON in many locations. Our global network of language trainers means that any major city in the UK Europe, and beyond can hold your Czech language course. We can arrange your Czech language lessons for your own home, but many of our clients like to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Residential full-time Czech language courses are also available. Our office can discuss available locations with you.

Greater Manchester Czech Course Schedules

We run our Czech language courses in Greater Manchester all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Czech courses on request. Our Czech programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Czech language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Czech course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Czech and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Czech skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Czech and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Czech for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Czech language trainers will tailor your Czech course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Czech Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Czech examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Czech teachers in Greater Manchester whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Czech examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Czech Courses Greater Manchester

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county in North West England, with a population of 2.6 million. It encompasses one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United Kingdom and comprises ten metropolitan boroughs: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and the cities of Manchester and Salford. Greater Manchester was created on 1 April 1974 as a result of the Local Government Act 1972. Greater Manchester spans 496 square miles (1,285 km2). It is landlocked and borders Cheshire (to the south-west and south), Derbyshire (to the south-east), West Yorkshire (to the north-east), Lancashire (to the north) and Merseyside (to the west). There is a mix of high density urban areas, suburbs, semi-rural and rural locations in Greater Manchester, but overwhelmingly the land use is urban. It has a focused central business district, formed by Manchester city centre and the adjoining parts of Salford and Trafford, but Greater Manchester is also a polycentric county with ten metropolitan districts, each of which has at least one major town centre and outlying suburbs. The Greater Manchester Urban Area is the third most populous conurbation in the UK, and spans across most of the county's territory. For the 12 years following 1974 the county had a two-tier system of local government; district councils shared power with the Greater Manchester County Council.
