All over the UK, private individuals and professionals in a variety of companies have gained benefits by taking part in a Czech Language Course from SIMON & SIMON. With an average of 15 years’ experience, the native Czech speakers of SIMON & SIMON’s qualified teaching team tailor each course for the specific requirements of the student, from absolute novices to those with some experience. Our clients reliably give excellent feedback on our Czech teachers. Each of our students receives an information profile on the background and experience of their Czech teacher before they commence their Czech lessons.

New teaching approaches have revolutionised how modern language training is now approached. This training, with more fun and a more worthwhile experience means that it’s a far cry from what you may remember of studying languages in school. When you start a Czech course in Bath, you will make progress from the very first lesson, as almost everything will be done in Czech. This is known as the Communicative Approach, and means that your confidence and ability will soon grow so that you can use Czech to communicate in social and business settings.

Our Czech courses are usually offered by our clients as 1:1 training for their employees. Group sessions, however, are also available and can be excellent value for money. Planning is required so that participants all meet at the same time each week, and we recommend that numbers are kept to 6 or less. 1:1 Czech lessons at Bath mean that you will have your individual needs, weaknesses and strengths catered for, so that your progress is quicker.

Czech Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Czech languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Czech course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

SIMON & SIMON has arranged Czech language courses for clients in numerous locations, and with our global network of language trainers we can organise a Czech language course for you wherever you are - in almost any major city in the UK, Europe and beyond. The vast majority of our Czech lessons take place at our clients' offices, removing the need for you to travel, but Czech lessons can take place in your home if that is more convenient. We can also arrange full-time residential Czech language courses for you - just contact our office for information on available destinations.

Bath Czech Course Schedules

We run our Czech language courses in Bath all through the year. Many of our students, if work commitments allow, will attend more than one session weekly, and the vast majority take part in at least one 90-minute lesson weekly. We also arrange weekend Czech courses on request. Our Czech programs commence from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Intensive 30 hour per week Czech language courses, held on clients’ premises or at residential centres in the UK or abroad, are also available on a 6 hours per day basis, Monday through Friday.

Whatever your personal level of experience and future goals, your Czech course will be customised for you. Before you start the course we will assess your level of Czech and discuss in detail what you would like to focus on. You may desire simply to gain everyday Czech skills from the level of a complete beginner, or you may have more experience in Czech and want to improve your ability to discuss banking, finance or marketing. You may want to develop improved pronunciation and comprehension skills or improve your Czech for use in negotiations and meetings. Whatever your goals and needs, our highly experienced Czech language trainers will tailor your Czech course so that your goals will be met quickly.

Czech Language Examination Courses

If you are taking a Czech examination, for business or other reasons, we are happy to help you with your preparations. We are very proud of the 95% pass rate of our students in language examinations. We believe this highlights the value of working with Czech teachers in Bath whose experience is above average. SIMON & SIMON can also register you for your Czech examination, administer the examination and issue you your results.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Czech Courses Bath

Czech is a West Slavic language with about 12 million native speakers; it is the majority language in the Czech Republic and spoken by Czechs worldwide. The language was known as Bohemian in English until the late 19th century. Czech is similar to and mutually intelligible with Slovak and, to a considerably lesser extent, to Polish and Sorbian.

Bath is a city in the ceremonial county of Somerset in the south west of England. It is situated 97 miles (156 km) west of London and 13 miles (21 km) south-east of Bristol. The population of the city is 83,992.It was granted city status by Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I in 1590,and was made a county borough in 1889 which gave it administrative independence from its county, Somerset. The city became part of Avon when that county was created in 1974. Since 1996, when Avon was abolished, Bath has been the principal centre of the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). The city was first established as a spa resort with the Latin name, Aquae Sulis ("the waters of Sulis") by the Romans in AD 43 although verbal tradition suggests that Bath was known before then. They built baths and a temple on the surrounding hills of Bath in the valley of the River Avon around hot springs, which are the only ones naturally occurring in the United Kingdom. Edgar was crowned king of England at Bath Abbey in 973.Much later, it became popular as a spa resort during the Georgian era, which led to a major expansion that left a heritage of exemplary Georgian architecture crafted from Bath Stone. The City of Bath was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1987. The city has a variety of theatres, museums, and other cultural and sporting venues.
