Both professionals and non-professionals alike have seen great benefits from a SIMON & SIMON Croatian Language Course. SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified Croatian teachers is made up of native speakers who average 15 years of experience. These teachers will make sure that a course is tailored for your specific needs so that you will benefit regardless of your language proficiency. Feedback from clients on our Croatian tutors is consistently highly positive. Our students are sent a profile containing information on their specific teacher’s experience and background before the start of their Croatian Lessons.

Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding. The Communicative Approach, where your Croatian teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Croatian means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Croatian in a social or business setting will be no problem.

Croatian courses from us can be run for groups or individuals. While many of our clients offer their employees Croatian courses on a 1:1 basis, group sessions can be excellent value. Group sessions do require planning and commitment from the participants and we recommend that no more than 6 people participate in a group. As 1:1 lessons can be tailored to an individual’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, learning Croatian in Stoke on a 1:1 basis will give quicker progress.

Croatian Course Management

SIMON & SIMON’s Croatian language courses all have a specific Account Manager who oversee the course. Each of these managers is highly experienced and multi-lingual. At the start of your Croatian course, you will receive a profile on your trainer, course materials and a Course Plan. After every 40 hours of training you will receive a Progress Report. We will send you our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, which contains a wonderful prize draw as well as weblinks to valuable language learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Croatian language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Croatian language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Croatian language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. For a list of the locations of the full-time residential Croatian language courses that we offer, contact our office.

Stoke Croatian Course Schedules

Our Croatian language courses in Stoke take place throughout the year. Many of our students try to attend more than one weekly lesson if work commitments allow, and most will attend at least one session of 90-minutes duration per week. If you would like a Weekend Course, one can be arranged. Our Croatian daytime courses run from 8am through to 8pm, Monday - Friday. We also provide Intensive Croatian language courses on clients’ premises or in residential centres both in the UK and abroad. These courses run for 30 hours of the week, 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday.

The Croatian language course that you undertake will be customised for your Croatian level and personal goals. Before you start the course, we will speak to you about your desired focus and assess you Croatian level. You may have little or no experience of Croatian and only want basic conversational skills or you may be more proficient and desire more fluency with which to discuss business. You may want to raise your Croatian skills for use in meetings and negotiations or rather develop increased comprehension and pronunciation skills. Whatever your objectives, our Croatian language trainers are highly experienced, and you can be confident that your personalised Croatian course will help you to meet your goals quickly.

Croatian Language Examination Courses

SIMON & SIMON also assists in preparation for Croatian examinations, whether for business or personal qualification. We believe that our 95% pass rate for language examinations is a reflection of our policy of working with Croatian teachers in Stoke who possess above average experience. Registration for and administration of Croatian examinations, along with the issuing of results certificates are all provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Croatian Courses Stoke

Croatian is the collective name for the standard language and dialects spoken by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina and other neighbouring countries. They are varieties of the Serbo-Croatian language, along with Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Standard and literary Croatian is based on the central dialect, Shtokavian, more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of standard Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin.

Stoke means "hamlet", from the Anglo-Saxon. It formed part of the ancient Forest of Mondrum. Stoke is not mentioned by name in the Domesday survey; the name was first recorded in 1260. Barbridge is mentioned in John Leland's Itinerary from a visit of 1536. The civil parish was originally a township in the ancient parish of Acton in the Nantwich Hundred; it was served by St Mary's Church, Acton. The manor was given by Randal de Praers to his son, who assumed the name Stoke, and later passed to the Beeston and Aston families. By 1622, it was held by the Minshull family of Stoke Hall. The manor was held by the Wilbraham family from 1753 to 1781, and was then sold to the Craven family. During the Civil War, Stoke was occupied by royalist forces in December 1643, together with much of the surrounding area. In the 17th–19th centuries, the area appears to have had a substantial Quaker population; a graveyard at Stoke Grange Farm was given to the movement in 1657 and remained in use until the mid-19th century. During World War II, Stoke Manor provided accommodation for land girls.
