Newcastle Croatian Course Schedules

Our Croatian language courses in Newcastle go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Croatian can be arranged on request. Our Croatian courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Croatian courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Croatian language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Croatian language course we will assess your goals and level of Croatian experience. Your desire to learn Croatian may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Croatian to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Croatian in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Croatian Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Croatian examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Croatian is the collective name for the standard language and dialects spoken by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina and other neighbouring countries. They are varieties of the Serbo-Croatian language, along with Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin. Standard and literary Croatian is based on the central dialect, Shtokavian, more specifically on Eastern Herzegovinian, which is also the basis of standard Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin.

Newcastle upon Tyne is a city and metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear, in North East England. Situated on the north bank of the River Tyne, the city developed in the area that was the location of the Roman settlement called Pons Aelius, though it owes its name to the castle built in 1080, by Robert II, Duke of Normandy, the eldest son of William the Conqueror.
