Chinese Course Management

Each of SIMON & SIMON’s Chinese languages courses is the responsibility of a multi-lingual, very experienced Account Manager. When you start your Chinese course, you will receive your trainer’s profile. Thereafter we will send you a Course Plan, materials for the course and, after each 40 hours of training, a Progress Report. Our quarterly newsletter, Breaking the Language Barrier, will also reach you, and contains a prize draw as well as the weblinks of language learning resources.

We have a global network of language trainers so our Chinese language courses can be arranged for almost any major European city, or even further abroad. SIMON & SIMON have run Chinese language courses for clients in many diverse locations. Chinese language courses can be run in your home for your convenience, but many of our clients prefer to run them in their offices so as to minimise travel. Nottinghamshire Chinese Course Schedules

Our Chinese language courses in Nottinghamshire go on all year. Some of our students attend more than one 90-minute weekly session if work circumstances allow, and most will attend at least one per week. Weekend Courses in Chinese can be arranged on request. Our Chinese courses are available 12 hours a day, from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday. 30 hour per week intensive Chinese courses can be held on clients’ premises or in residential centres in the UK or abroad. These courses take 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

We will tailor your Chinese language course for your specific aims and level of knowledge. Before you start your Chinese language course we will assess your goals and level of Chinese experience. Your desire to learn Chinese may be simply to develop basic skills, or you may have some level of proficiency and wish to increase your ability to use Chinese to discuss business. You may want to develop your language skills so that you can use Chinese in negotiations and meetings or improve your pronunciation and telephone skills. Chinese Language Examination Courses

Our students’ pass rate for Chinese examinations is at 95%, and we are happy to help with the preparations for any such examination. Our high pass rate shows the value of working with Chinese teachers in Nottinghamshire who have a higher level of experience than average. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Standard Chinese is a standardized form of spoken Chinese, based on the Beijing dialect of Mandarin Chinese. Standard Chinese is the official language of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC, also known as Taiwan), as well as one of four official languages of Singapore. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. About one-fifth of the world’s population, or over one billion people, speaks some variety of Chinese as their native language. Linguists often view Chinese as a language family, though owing to China's socio-political and cultural situation, and the fact that all spoken varieties use one common written system, it is customary to refer to these generally mutually unintelligible variants as "the Chinese language".

Nottinghamshire is an English county in the East Midlands, which borders South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. The county town is traditionally Nottingham, though the council is now based in West Bridgford, a suburb of Greater Nottingham (at a site facing Nottingham City over the River Trent). The districts of Nottinghamshire are Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood, and Rushcliffe. The City of Nottingham was administratively part of Nottinghamshire between 1974 and 1998 but is now a unitary authority although it remains part of the historic and ceremonial county.
