Chinese Courses for Business in GlasgowPlease click a title below for further information: Private individuals and professionals in companies all over the UK have profited from undertaking a Chinese Language Course with SIMON & SIMON. Averaging 15 years of experience, our native Chinese speaking qualified teachers construct your course so that your individual requirements are met, no matter what your level of experience.
Our Chinese teachers receive excellent feedback from our clients. A profile, containing information about the Chinese teacher’s background and experience, is sent to each student before the Chinese lessons start.
Modern language teaching is now approached much differently to how you might remember learning languages in school. The experience is now much more fun and rewarding.
The Communicative Approach, where your Chinese teacher will conduct your lessons almost entirely in Chinese means that progress is made from your very first lesson. Soon, you will have such confidence that using Chinese in a social or business setting will be no problem. Our Chinese language courses are available on both a 1:1 and group basis, but the majority of our clients offer 1:1 Chinese training to their employees. However, with careful planning, group training can offer great value for money, provided there is a real commitment from the participants to get together at the same time every week. We strongly recommend you keep group numbers to 6 or less for these types of courses to be successful.
Those learning Chinese in at Glasgow on a 1:1 basis will naturally make much faster progress, as the course will be designed around their individual needs and focus on their particular strengths and weaknesses. Chinese Course ManagementOne of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Chinese language course.
On starting your Chinese course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you. SIMON & SIMON’s Chinese language courses have been run for clients in many different locations. With a global network of language trainers a Chinese language course can be held in almost any major city throughout Europe and elsewhere.
We can arrange Chinese language courses in your home or, as many of our clients prefer, in your offices to remove the need for you to travel.
Full-time residential Chinese language courses are also an option. For a list of locations, please contact our office.
Glasgow Chinese Course SchedulesThe Chinese language courses in Glasgow that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more.
We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Chinese courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Chinese language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday. Before you start your Chinese language course we will assess your level of Chinese and speak to you about your aims so that your Chinese language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Chinese before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Chinese when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Chinese in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Chinese language trainers will tailor your Chinese course so that your goals can be quickly met. Chinese Language Examination CoursesWe are happy to help in your preparation for any Chinese examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Chinese teachers in Glasgow.
Issuing of results certificates, registration for Chinese examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Chinese Courses Glasgow Standard Chinese is a standardized form of spoken Chinese, based on the Beijing dialect of Mandarin Chinese. Standard Chinese is the official language of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC, also known as Taiwan), as well as one of four official languages of Singapore. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. About one-fifth of the world’s population, or over one billion people, speaks some variety of Chinese as their native language. Linguists often view Chinese as a language family, though owing to China's socio-political and cultural situation, and the fact that all spoken varieties use one common written system, it is customary to refer to these generally mutually unintelligible variants as "the Chinese language". Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and third most populous in the United Kingdom. The city is situated on the River Clyde in the country's west central lowlands. A person from Glasgow is known as a Glaswegian or as locals say "weegie".
Glasgow grew from the medieval Bishopric of Glasgow and the later establishment of the University of Glasgow in the 15th century, which subsequently became a major centre of the Scottish Enlightenment in the 18th century. From the 18th century the city also grew as one of Britain's main hubs of transatlantic trade with British North America and the British West Indies. With the Industrial Revolution, the city and surrounding region shifted to become one of the world's pre-eminent centres of Heavy Engineering, most notably in the Shipbuilding and Marine engineering industry, which produced many innovative and famous vessels. Glasgow was known as the "Second City of the British Empire" for much of the Victorian era and Edwardian period. Today it is one of Europe's top twenty financial centres and is home to many of Scotland's leading businesses. Glasgow is also ranked as the 57th most liveable city in the world.
