Blackpool Chinese Course SchedulesWe run Chinese language courses in Blackpool all year. Most of our students participate in no less than one 90-minute lesson per week, but many students will participate in more if work commitments allow.
Weekend Courses can be facilitated, and our Chinese weekday courses run from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 8pm.
Intensive Chinese language courses are also available and can be run at the client’s premises or a residential centre in the UK or overseas. These courses take place over 6 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for 30 hours per week. Your Chinese language course’s content will be tailored to your experience and goals. Prior to the course, we will assess your Chinese language level and speak to you comprehensively about the areas and subjects you are interested in.
Students may be complete novices who need everyday Chinese conversational skills or have more proficiency in Chinese and wish to be able to discuss various business topics such as banking or finance more fluently.
Students may desire to bolster their Chinese for negotiations and meetings or focus on gaining better listening, pronunciation and comprehension skills.
No matter what your needs, you can be confident that our very experienced Chinese language trainers will work with you on a Chinese language course that is tailored for you so that you quickly meet your goals. Chinese Language Examination CoursesChinese examination preparation for business or other examinations can also be assisted with. Our students boast a 95% rate of passing such examinations, proving the value of our policy of Chinese teachers in Blackpool with experience above the average.
SIMON & SIMON also organises registration and administration of Chinese examinations as well as issuing results certificates as a part of our service. The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.
Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

SIMON & SIMON International Breaking the Language Barrier Back to top of Chinese Courses Blackpool Standard Chinese is a standardized form of spoken Chinese, based on the Beijing dialect of Mandarin Chinese. Standard Chinese is the official language of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC, also known as Taiwan), as well as one of four official languages of Singapore. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. About one-fifth of the world’s population, or over one billion people, speaks some variety of Chinese as their native language. Linguists often view Chinese as a language family, though owing to China's socio-political and cultural situation, and the fact that all spoken varieties use one common written system, it is customary to refer to these generally mutually unintelligible variants as "the Chinese language". Blackpool is a seaside town and unitary authority in Lancashire, England. Situated along the coast of the Irish Sea, it has a population of 142,900, making it the third-largest settlement in North West England behind Manchester and Liverpool. It lies 40 miles (64 km) north-west of the city of Manchester, and less than 30 miles (48 km) north of Liverpool City centre. Blackpool is the fourth most densely populated local authority district of England & Wales outside Greater London.
Blackpool rose to prominence as a major centre of tourism during the 19th century, particularly for the inhabitants of northern mill towns.
Blackpool is believed to get its name from a historic drainage channel (possibly Spen Dyke) that ran over a peat bog, discharging discoloured water into the Irish Sea, which formed a black pool (on the other side of the sea, "Dublin" (Dubh Linn) is derived from the Irish for "black pool"). Another explanation is that the local dialect for stream was "pul" or "poole", hence "Black poole".
