Maybe your only knowledge of studying languages is what you remember from school. Modern language teaching has recently changed to be much more entertaining and rewarding. Your Bosnian lessons in Norfolk will be carried out almost completely in Bosnian. This is the Communicative Approach and by this method you will notice progress from the initial lesson. You will soon feel confident and able to use Bosnian to communicate in various business and social situations.

Both 1:1 and group formats are available for our Bosnian language courses. While most of our clients offer 1:1 Bosnian training, the group format can offer great value for money. If you want groups to be successful, the members must commit to the weekly meetings and we recommend keeping the number of participants below 7. Progress is faster for those who learn Bosnian in Norfolk on a 1:1 basis as the lessons are individually tailored for their particular needs, strengths and weaknesses.

Norfolk Bosnian Course Schedules

The Bosnian language courses in Norfolk that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Bosnian courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Bosnian language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Bosnian language course we will assess your level of Bosnian and speak to you about your aims so that your Bosnian language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Bosnian before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Bosnian when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Bosnian in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Bosnian language trainers will tailor your Bosnian course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Bosnian Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Bosnian examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Bosnian teachers in Norfolk. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Bosnian examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Back to top of Bosnian Courses Norfolk

Bosnian is a name commonly used for Serbo-Croatian as spoken by Bosniaks. As a standardized form of the Shtokavian dialect, it is one of three Serbo-Croatian standards used officially in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The same subdialect of Shtokavian is also the basis of standard Croatian, Serbian, and Montenegrin, so all are mutually intelligible. Up until the dissolution of former SFR Yugoslavia, they were treated as a unitary Serbo-Croatian language, and that term is still used to refer to the common base (vocabulary, grammar and syntax) of what are today officially four national standards. The Bosnian standard uses both Latin and Cyrillic alphabet.

Norfolk is a low-lying county in the East of England. It has borders with Lincolnshire to the west, Cambridgeshire to the west and southwest and Suffolk to the south. Its northern and eastern boundaries are the North Sea coast, including The Wash. The county town is Norwich. Norfolk is the fifth largest ceremonial county in England, with an area of 5,371 km² (2,074 sq mi). Of the 34 non-metropolitan English counties, Norfolk is the seventh most populous, with a population of 850,800 (mid 2008). However, as a largely rural county it has a low population density, 155 people per square kilometre (or 401 per square mile.) Norfolk has about one-thirtieth the population density of Central London, the tenth lowest density county in the country, with 38% of the county’s population living in the three major built up areas of Norwich (259,100), Great Yarmouth (71,700) and King's Lynn (43,100). The Broads, a well known network of rivers and lakes, is located on the county's east coast, bordering Suffolk. The area has the status of a National Park and is protected by the Broads Authority. Historical sites, such as those in the centre of Norwich, also contribute to tourism.
