SIMON & SIMON’s team of qualified native Arabic speaking teachers average 15 years of experience. Professionals and private individuals from all over the UK have benefited from SIMON & SIMON’s Arabic language courses, all of which are tailor-made to reflect each student's level of experience. We consistently receive outstanding feedback from our clients about our Arabic tutors. Each student is sent a specific profile on the experience and background of their Arabic tutor before they start their course of lessons.

If the only experience you have of studying a language is from your time in school, you may not know that there has been a revolution in the teaching of modern languages so that it is both more fun and more worthwhile. Your Arabic teacher in Oxfordshire will be using the Communicative Approach, where your lessons will, with few exceptions, be conducted in Arabic. You will see your progress from that very first lesson and will soon be confident enough to conduct business or talk socially in Arabic.

The Arabic courses that we offer can be run as 1:1 or group sessions. While most of our clients use 1:1 Arabic training for their employees, group sessions can be good value. Participants numbers should be kept to 6 or less, and they will need to commit to meeting every week. If you require faster progress, 1:1 Arabic courses at Oxfordshire are more suitable as the lessons and course can be tailored to the individual’s needs while focusing on their specific weaknesses and strengths.

Arabic Course Management

One of our highly experienced, multilingual Account managers oversees each SIMON & SIMON Arabic language course. On starting your Arabic course you will receive various materials including a profile on your trainer, a Course Plan and course materials and a Progress Report on every 40 hours of your training. Breaking the Language Barrier, our quarterly newsletter, which contains weblinks to various language learning sources and a prize draw, will also be sent to you.

SIMON & SIMON Arabic language courses have been arranged for clients in various locations. We have a global network of trainers and wherever you are, we will be able to organise a Arabic language course for you, not only in the UK but in almost any of the major cities in Europe and beyond. Most of our Arabic courses are run at the offices of our clients so that you do not have to travel, but we are happy to arrange Arabic training sessions for you in your home. Full-time Arabic courses can be arranged in a residential setting for you. Our office has information on the locations we offer.

Oxfordshire Arabic Course Schedules

The Arabic language courses in Oxfordshire that we run go on through the year. Each week, most of our students will attend at least one of our 90-minute lessons, but many will do more. We can easily arrange Weekend Courses for you. Arabic courses run from Monday to Friday, any time from 8am to 8pm. Intensive Arabic language courses can be arranged in residential centres abroad or in the UK, or on clients’ premises for 30 hours per week, 6 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Before you start your Arabic language course we will assess your level of Arabic and speak to you about your aims so that your Arabic language course can be customised for you. You may have never been exposed to Arabic before and wish to develop basic survival skills, or you may have some experience and wish to be able to speak more fluently in Arabic when discussing business. You may want to further your ability to use Arabic in negotiations and meetings or better your comprehension and pronunciation abilities. Whatever goals you may have, our experienced Arabic language trainers will tailor your Arabic course so that your goals can be quickly met.

Arabic Language Examination Courses

We are happy to help in your preparation for any Arabic examinations. Our students have a 95% pass rate and we think that their success shows the value of our policy of working with above-average experienced Arabic teachers in Oxfordshire. Issuing of results certificates, registration for Arabic examinations and administration of such exams is also provided by SIMON & SIMON.

The table below is based on recognised language levels used by various academic institutions accross the European Union. A highly motivated student attending weekly sessions with their language trainer can expect to move from one level to another after 50 hours providing they also commit to a similar number of hours of self-study.

Of course, some people find learning languages easier than others, and some students will have more opportunities to practise the language in the course of their work and leisure, so these factors also need to be considered when trying to assess how long it will take to move from one level to another.

Arabic is a Central Semitic language, thus related to and classified alongside other Semitic languages such as Hebrew and the Neo-Aramaic languages. Arabic has more speakers than any other language in the Semitic language family. It is spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language, most of whom live in the Middle East and North Africa. It is the official language of 22 countries and it is the liturgical language of Islam since it is the language of the Quran, the Islamic Holy Book. Arabic has many different, geographically distributed spoken varieties, some of which are mutually unintelligible. Modern Standard Arabic (sometimes called Literary Arabic) is widely taught in schools, universities, and used in workplaces, government and the media.

Oxfordshire is a county in the South East region of England, bordering on Warwickshire, Northamptonshire (to the north/northeast), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire and Swindon (to the southwest), Gloucestershire (to the west) and Warwickshire (to the north). It is divided into five local government districts: Oxford, Cherwell, Vale of White Horse (after the Uffington White Horse), West Oxfordshire and South Oxfordshire. The county has a major tourist industry. The area is noted for the concentration of performance motorsport companies and facilities. Oxford University Press is the largest firm among a concentration of print and publishing firms; the University of Oxford is also linked to the concentration of local biotechnology companies. The main centre of population is the city of Oxford. Other significant settlements are Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington, and Chipping Norton to the north of Oxford; Witney to the west; Thame and Chinnor to the east; and Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford and Henley-on-Thames to the south. Future population growth in the county is hoped to be concentrated around Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot and Witney, near the South Midlands growth area. The highest point of the administrative county is White Horse Hill, in the Vale of White Horse, reaching 261 metres (856 ft). The highest point in the historic county is near Portobello Farm in the Chiltern Hills at 255 metres. Oxfordshire's county flower is the Snake's-head Fritillary.
